Off-Topic Tranny names

It's funny how when anyone else does it, it's cultural appropriation and therefore racist, but trannies are exempt from the same rules that the woke movement of which they're a part has created.
I mean I've seen people bitch about "dem awful WHITE trannies appropriating muh culture".

Within the rules of Social Justice, it's okay for them to criticize white trannies as long as they're BROWN TRANNIES. TAKE THAT!

There are three types of male tranny name: the stripper name, the ridiculous fantasy film/anime character name, and the skinwalker names. The latter is when a troon is severely sexually attracted to a female in his life and wishes he was her. This could be a girlfriend, a sister, a crush, or anyone else he covets.

One such example is Bruce/Caitlyn Jenner: his son Brody's (now ex) girlfriend is called Kaitlynn.

I imagine the way women probably feel about MtF's and their gender blackface, it's how I feel with a lot of the FtM's especially when it comes to the bizarre name choices.

It's always some out of date old fashioned name or something trying to sound tough (because thats what being a man is all about). I think watching this one neurotic kill joy of a bitch mutate into a "Dean" was peak for me despite how simple of a name that is because who the fuck wants to be a Dean?

Among others I've had to suffer have been Humbert (wat) and Butch (lol).

Everyone underestimates popular baby name choices for troon names. How many of you have heard the following?

This is a fucking who's who of trans names for the most part. 90% of these are trans people. In the top 100-200 baby names like Eleanor and other older things are coming back. Don't underestimate popular taste. I'm more fascinated by out there names myself. See also: list of trans people from Wikipedia, the premier place for trans people editing things into oblivion.

Transwoman names

As said before, popular categories include...

Noun Names Invoking a Fem Quality: Daisy, Rose, Ruby, Sapphire, Serenity and edgy versions like Thorn, Hex, Raven, Luna. Some of these are already covered on the popular page too.

Mythology Names & Old European Language Names: Lamia (worse if they have a fetish), Nyx, Lilith, Hecate, Eris, Minerva

Skinwalker Names: Jessica, Valerie, Andrea, Britney

General Fancy Names: Lithia, Gwyendolyn, Candice, Twila

"Who is retarded enough to be named" names: Synthia, Ryka, Bamby, Feroza, Namoli

Popular Character Names: Lara (Croft), Meryl (Metal Gear), Anastasia (Movie), Pearl (Steven Universe), (Ellen) Ripley, Ellie (The Last of Us), and a host of anime bullshit like Junko (Danga Ronpa) and things you wouldn't expect (see: my Gretchen explanation of the quote below)

Trans men

It's popular names plus this image:

Pay close attention; Peter & Parker (Spiderman), Connor (Detroit Become Human), and plenty of other famous "uwu soft boi bean!!!" characters appear on this list. Dave and John from Homestuck were popular in that generation, Axel from Kingdom Hearts, uhhh I have no idea what Tiger Beat idols and fandom heartthrobs exist currently. The rule of thumb is that if you see someone with an Ash Williams icon who writes like a woman but is named Ash, it's likely that they're trans if they don't already specify it.

Please note that male names as a whole are more restrictive and teens who hop on the trend for fun are more likely to take common names. Some trans men really want to stay under the radar, so they'll be smarter and pick normal names too.

Nonbinary

Usually it's trendy both gender names like Jamie, Quinn, Taylor, Eli, Finn, and other fun things. Female enbies are more likely to trend towards masculine names (some will be James, Oliver, etc.) and male enbies trend towards feminine names (Olivia, Ellie, etc.) because they just do NOT want to be seen as their birth gender.

Then there's pure tism names: Fox, Eclipse, Blue, Abyss, Sin... these can also be trans man or trans woman names and are put here as they cover both.

Noticed a few going for very old fashioned names too - Gretchen (Felker-Martin,
I highly suspect Gretchen named himself after a Puella Magi Madoka Magica witch, Krimehild Gretchen, the big bad and most powerful witch in the series. He's been inspired by the series in the past so it's highly likely his lardass named himself after the largest physical witch (and most powerful) in the series.

. the funny thing is that many of them are now 17/18/19 and are actually take no shit, kick arse feminists that leave the boys in the dust, academically and socially
I'm so proud of our young women and wish the good careers and happy lives in whatever they choose, from one woman to another. :heart-full:

Violet, lilith, Kira, also old timey women's names like Gertrude for some reason.
I think more traditional names like Gertrude are picked because they're classic, strictly female names you can't mistake for male (think Riley or Dylan). They also spark in many the thought of a matriarch, so a strong, loving maternal figure.

A young dangerhair has asked /r/trans for name ideas

Suggested names include: Alexei, Atraus, Atlas, Boris, Horus, Zasha, Clove, Ink, Jet, Nyx,
Mordecai, Wren, „I say something with an E, like Eli, Elijah, Eric, Ember even”, Sierra, Kage, Poe,
Bethaniel and Jinx.

But one name towers above all others and luckily our OP likes it too:

I actually knew a cross dresser way before all the people of gender emerged who used to go by Gretchen on MySpace. Dunno if he trooned out.

Anyway; Ember, Meadow, Ivy, Morrigan all spring to mind.
