That is really depressing. I read in some places in Europe they cover permanent hair removal for trans people (Germany I think) but never heard of it being covered for women with PCOS, even in Europe. Even that seems highly questionable to me. It stands to reason that any surgery meant to address a mental rather than a physical problem should be avoided as much as possible in favour of psychotherapy. No matter where you stand on the trans issue, if everyone's being honest (which unfortunately isn't the case) then it's clearly preferable that people learn to just be happy with the body/sex they're born with rather than attempt to fix what can never be fixed. I doubt the majority of troons who get the chop are truly, objectively happier with a festering rotpocket in place of a penis. I just don't buy it.

Ollie's argument (and he's not the only one who makes it) is essentially cisgender doctors do not have the lived experience to understand trans people.

Even more nonsensical than the argument that only actors who belong to X oppression category can play characters who belong to that category. Can schizophrenics only be treated by other schizophrenics? Are quadruple amputations only allowed to be performed by surgeons who are themselves quadruple amputees?

I hope so, because this is always the milkiest breadtube content. They have to try and square the circle of supporting the idea of cancelling people for having done absolutely nothing wrong while also defending themselves against being cancelled for having done absolutely nothing wrong, while simultaneously making sure to pin the blame on the alt-right.

Tube of course may or may not have actually done something wrong.

Much as Olly deserves a good shellacking, this cancellation seems to be mostly on Twitter and Reddit for now. Neither his Patreon nor YouTube subs have declined at all and if it doesn't affect his money, it's just chatter that bruises his enormous ego.
