It seems to me that the trailer was no more than that - a trailer created to sell a show that didn't exist. Notice that the guest star from the Go-Gos only says "Bratschin!" or whatever (I'm not watching it again), but has no more dialog than that. Likely, none was recorded, but even if it was, the trailer was animated for the trailer's sake, if the animators haven't even begun working on the show.

I realize there are those who support making a trailer in order to get investors to back the film, but what Black did here was different. He marketed GZ as if it was already being produced and ready to hit the 'net. Not cool.

The scam is failing because he can't get the show shot whilst he markets it. He's had to resort to marketing nothing except the trailer.

About the only way he'd get proper money out of this now is pimping out that trans actress of his, but he'd probably fail to produce on that as well

You'd think at this point he'd at least release the animatic of the first episode he was showing off at panels. His despicably polite nemesis @Kitlen (how dare she be the sole panel attendee, ask fair questions, and show an interest in the show) already leaked it online, it's not like he'd be be giving anything major away.

At this point I'd question whether or not the animatic was actually made.

So he probably did an even more third rate or fourth rate job than Derek Smart with Erik Estrada and Vivica Fox, i.e. pour some drinks down Estrada's throat and do a one take scene or two.

Wiedlin has expressed support for trans issues in the past so it probably wasn't that hard to get her to lend her name and apparently two seconds of her time. I was previously pretty mystified at how she'd get hoodwinked into obvious bullshit, but if it required zero effort, it makes sense. I'd assumed at the time there was actual voice acting going on, an optimistic assumption.

Hayden Black may be the most incompetent, zero effort scammer of all time.
