According to the Code of Virginia Title 18.2-10 E, class five felonies are no less than a year and no more than ten years.

I also think Chris needs to be on strong medication, since things have gotten so bad about his need to play pretend Tranny Jesus that it really is in the air if he has more mental problems than just the 'tism. Virtually every bad thing that's happened in his life has occurred because his impulse control is non-existent. Anything that reigns him in, even if it makes him into a perpetually doped up sloth that doesn't do anything all day, would still be a legitimate improvement for his quality of life.

I doubt Chris will change at all when released. He will revert to his old self. Chris has proven time and time again that he lacks the discipline to actually improve anything. He's 40 now, way past his way, with the mental capacity of a 7 year old. Such a guy should not be allowed to participate in a normal life, that's why a group home for sex offender and/or mentally ill will be the most likely outcome for him. However, Chris will probably struggle there too. He just has to piss off the wrong guy or disturb someone's sleep at 1-5 AM to get him into the hospital. Imagine all the shit he will do at night when others are sleeping.

I doubt he will be seeing her anytime soon, even if he got released. Barb is pretty close to dying and there is a restraining order against him. Barb might not even remember Chris at all.

Not to be That Guy, but the restraining order was temporary and AFAIK we don't know whether or not it was extended/made permanent/whatever. Redditor weens have basically limited themselves to driving around Ruckersville and taking pictures of the outside of the house, which is good for Barb (as much as she sucks as a parent and person, she didn't deserve Chris' soul healing) but doesn't tell us much of anything about her feelings, or her physical and mental states. She could've croaked last week, or she could have another decade in her. Everybody's got that one cousin or uncle or whatever who's been smoking, drinking, and eating like shit for decades, but keeps on trucking in spite of it all.

I don't think Chris can survive outside due to the abuse he faced from the Idea Guys saga. The incest has proven Chris is capable of doing horrible things, so I see him being held in a hospital for the rest of his days or until they can salvage some form of sanity for him to go to a group home.

I would assume it wasn't, especially because he's in jail, which is kind of more effective than a restraining order, but I would guess if they eventually come to an agreement to let him out under that deferral, that they'll include a restraining order as part of the agreement (that would not have been possible in J&DR court for longer than a year or possibly two where the case used to be).

We probably should do that in America, but we don’t. Keeping someone in a hospital against their will is extremely difficult.

Anyway, psychiatrists and doctors have already deemed him too sane for a mental institution and kicked him back to jail. A group home is much more likely than a hospital.

Hey man, hopeful dreams, but I also believe that if the court finds evidence that he sexually assaulted Barb, which would fall into subsection 2 of VA Code 18.2-61, he could be serving a long time in prison. The minimum for rape/sexual assault in VA is five years, with the maximum being life imprisonment, and add this in with felony incest which has a minimum of a year with a maximum of ten. Depending on how the case goes, the jail saga can turn much darker for Chris as he'll likely be in protective custody when he goes to prison because he is an easy target for other inmates to extort or use as a torpedo. I feel the prison saga will probably be the final chapter of Christory, depending on what happens with the case.

Now if the court finds no evidence of rape and it turns out Barb somehow consented, then maybe once he gets out he'll go to a group home

Barb is allegedly being taken care of by her family members, i doubt they will let Chris near her and even then, when she dies, the house is gone. Barb can not pay the mortgage and neither will Chris. I'm still surprised why the state of Virginia lets a woman, who's clearly not of sound mind. But then again, the US is a crazy, crazy country withz crazy people.

The only thing I feel when I read how much Chris wanted to go home a year ago and how he was still clinging to hope is sadness.

I wish Christopher. I wish with all my heart you could go back to being a sweet little boy who could go home with your parents.

It's not entirely your fault, but the stars are within ourselves and whether there is a higher power or not we are ultimately responsible for our destinies if not our fate.

I'm sorry, I really am if just for right this moment, but someone has to pay the piper Chris. And unfortunately it has to be someone like you who never stood a chance.

I wish I could save that little boy back in the '90s, sometimes people can be saved, but hopefully Chris can serve as a cautionary tale.
