Isn't his appeal based on the copyright infringement, not the mean words? So is he admitting that the copyright infringement part of the case is just an excuse to silence his critics?
The whole case is about copyright infringement. Legally, he has no case; as smarter Kiwis than I have said, the infringing material is hosted on a Google website and what's posted here is either public information (his social media) or used for the purposes of reviews. He is free to say anything he wants; however, we are also free to respond to whatever he says, and we are free to do so in a forum he has no control over. The entire case is simply an excuse to try and shut us up.
"This site is harassing me, therefore I will be harassing the police..."

A website cannot harass you, Russell. It is incapable of doing so. Individual users could harass you, but Null has done the best he can to discourage it (i.e., making the rules against trolling known, banning known trolls on his website, and encouraging a site culture that frowns on harassment); this means, according to the infamous Section 230, he cannot be prosecuted. This website is an American website, meaning we're subject to American laws. And American laws permit the discussion, and criticism, of other people's speech- particularly that of public figures, which you undoubtedly view yourself as.
Is it possible that a user from this website is harassing you? Yes. But first, you'd need to prove that your harasser is from Kiwi Farms. Second, you'd need to bring a suit against that person, and only that person. Is it possible that someone unrelated to us is using information from this website to harass you? Yes, but the same problem still applies: find them and sue them- and only them.
Thirdly, harassment consists of someone inserting themselves into your life in a tangible way you cannot easily rid yourself of. This includes things like calling your phone at all hours, hanging around outside your house and place of work, following you around town, etc. Note how I didn't say, "saying mean things on the internet." While that could be a part of someone's harassment campaign, people on a forum simply observing and commenting on your internet activity does not consist of harassment. After all, you can always log off your social media and read a book, and nobody is forcing you to read this thread (if someone is forcing you, sue them instead.)
Finally, saying Null is hiding in Russia, during a time when anti-Russian sentiments are high, may itself be actionable. Null is in Eastern Europe, but nowhere near the Russian Federation. He fled to Europe due to threats on his life from truly unhinged people- far worse than anything you claim to endure.
