Someone sharty-adjacent with a modicum of power (not Kuz) that I've spoken to expressed the opinion that all interaction among a community should remain cardinal. Discord channels about a thing are not cardinal but rather tertiary. These tertiary branches (specifically Discord) create a delusion of interaction & slowly ween people off of actual cardinal participation. Because discussing things on Discord is inherently easier than actually participating in something eventually the Discord grows bigger & overtakes that original thing. From there the community has gone through a sort of transformation & may be perverted at a root level. I argued that things worthy of preservation would be inherently immune to this sort of corruption (as the thing would be more fun than merely discussing it) to which he responded with a greentext replica of my post & a soyjak.
