What OP troon does not understand that his daughter 3 years ago didn't grasp the situation and implications of what will happen if her father transitions. I would say she still doesn't but, maybe she initially was open to the idea, not because she was on board but because she didn't wanted to upset her parent.

Three years ago, the daughter was six. We know what troons are like. We know this troon says they were in a two year toxic narcissist relationship that 'convinced' them to go back in the closet. Now imagine what was really going on. Imagine what the father was saying and doing about this new relationship. Imagine the daughter hearing all about this toxic narcissist, because the troon will of course be saying these things to his children about the ex, because what troon doesn't overshare.

There's so many possibilities, including that the father peak transed his own daughter because she saw up close how he wasn't born that way, he started then stopped then started again depending on what someone else - someone more important to him than his family, clearly - was telling him. That's part of the theory I like for this: that the daughter got told all about how the ex was an emotionally abusive narcissist who only cared about themselves and saw, but being a kid couldn't really articulate, that this perfectly described her father. She saw whose opinion about being trans he cared about - and it wasn't anyone she knows, it was this stranger instead. I think chances are high that she wants her father back, and she got him back (in a way) when the bad person said no, and is struggling with the fact that when she says no, instead of going, 'OK,' her father asks, 'Why?'

It's all wild speculation, of course, but it's based on how troons inevitably behave, and if the ex truly was a toxic narcissist, they weren't the only one. The kid could do with therapy, but not for the reason any troon-affirmer would suggest it - she's lost her dad to his cooming, and that's got to fuck you up. Fuck, kids whose fathers got a new, young wife closer to their age than his thought they had it bad - at least their dad didn't turn into a shrieking parody of humanity.

To strangers who you have such little interaction with that they don't take in much else other than 'short hair, no skirt' and assume you're a 12 yo boy like they do with every girl with short hair and pants?
Or strangers who can see you're a female but one who probably identifies as trans due to hair etc and play along lest you throw a bitchfit?

You don't pass as a man, you pass as a trans identifying female, and apparently often you don't even pass as that.

If I hear a female voice on the phone say 'I'm Nico', I'd just assume I heard incorrectly and she really said 'I'm Nicole'.

They hear a female voice, see an obvious female, don't bother looking at the name tag because who does, they probably don't even know what a pronoun badge is, they don't pay attention to the pronouns your coworkers call you because who would, and they're probably too busy thinking about their shopping to pay attention to the obvious female trying to convince them she's a dude.
