Probably because apparently Ultrakill's game creator is a bisexual dude and the artist for the game is a FtM.

Also it doesn't help that one of voice actors for this game, Gianni Matragano did voiceover shorts
featuring the character he voiced in the game where the whole punchline is "HE'S HECKING GAY" despite the character he voiced being a religious robot zealot hellbent on killing.
