Got another RPG question for you guys; anyone seen or done a review for Coriolis: The Third Horizon yet? Apparently, it's a "Middle-Eastern" inspired tabletop that focuses on a very heavy Muslim presence in space - I've tried looking around this site for a review, but I can't find any mention of it as of yet. That being said, I'm not sure if the game really contains anything really mock-worthy - granted, I haven't read much about the game so far, but I have heard that it's apparently somewhat easy to ignore the Muslim trappings of the game if wanted, though again, I have yet to really dig into it myself.
Anyone know anything about it?

Presto. Muslims in space.
Genuine question: how do they address the issue of which direction you're supposed to face when praying? Do they ditch that requirement, or does every planet have its own Mecca? It's made by Free League, and uses it's Year Zero Engine. I have the core rulebook, and have done some reading around the mechanics, and a little bit around the setting. It can be as woke as you want it to be, or not. It's been a while, but it has to do with colonising a new area of space, but the original stasis ships that took centuries to get there were overtaken by later colonists using FTL drives that were invented after the first wave of colonists left. That's all I can remember, aside from the artwork being absolutely gorgeous.

It honestly doesn't seem woke at all to me. I was even thinking of using the base mechanics to force my players to experience the never-ending insanity of one of my Stellaris games.

I was actually pretty impressed with my players. The last survivor took down Acererak. With the sphere of annihilation that had eliminated half the party before they figured out to quit jumping into its mouth.the 3.5 group was a tad more serious, and one of them actually made it to Acererak who promptly sucked his soul on the first round. anticlimactic yes, but they didn't regret it.
His HP isn't even the thing, it's the whole clusterfuck of every weird completely unfair ability he has so that he's practically unkillable. He's like every shitty boss fight in every vidya ever that you can't possibly beat, rolled up into one bitch-ass skelly.Still unsure about the Acererak construct though. 600 hit points is a whole fucking lot

You just face in the direction of the nearest guy fucking a 9 year old.
the also made one ring 2e. LOTR is the prime target woketards salivate to pozz up, but I didn't hear any drama yet so I assume they should be on the safe side (for now, they're swedish after all).Huh. Well, that certainly sounds interesting; thanks! Kinda surprised it's not exactly a "woke" game - I figured that the devs would go all in with the Muslim shit, but I'm not entirely complaining, here.
vampire 5eIt does make me woner if there is a wokeshit Muslim game
I vaguely remember someone complaining about how the society depicted doesn't actually follow the structure of the Islamic Content countries but I can't remember much else.Got another RPG question for you guys; anyone seen or done a review for Coriolis: The Third Horizon yet? I ran it for a brief time when it first came out and it was pretty poorly balanced. Enemies that should have been beatable by the party would destroy them with ease but once they leveled up once, the same enemies would get destroyed. This might just be an issue at low levels/core book, but from the way the game is described I have to assume it was intentional. So can anyone edumacate me on Shadows of the Demon Lord? I periodically look at it while browsing the DriveThruRPG store, and it looks neat, in that "edgy grimdark" sort of way, but I know nothing about the system or the setting (I'm assuming there is one, rather than it just being a generic system?), and there are like 100 different expansion books for it. I wouldn't know where to begin.
Coriolis as far as I know doesn't have Muslim trappings, just some general arabic aesthetics. Think how Dune does it.Got another RPG question for you guys; anyone seen or done a review for Coriolis: The Third Horizon yet? Believe it or not, there's actually been some extensive jurisprudence on the subject. The Malaysian government convened this big legal conference back in 2007 when one of their citizens went into space with the Russians. The general guideline is that if you can work out which way Mecca is, pray towards that. If you can't, or if it's too far away to matter, just pray in the general direction of Earth. Well, that's pretty practical. Good on them for figuring it out without any jihads being called or suicide vests being detonated.Believe it or not, there's actually been some extensive jurisprudence on the subject. First game went well, even though I had to wing a few rules that I wasn't too clear on off the top of my head. And I critically underestimated how long combat takes in this system, even up against (mostly) immobile 1HP ballistic targets, trying to clear a killhouse took the bulk of the game. Definitely going to limit the amount of actors in combat next time.Going to run my first game in the coming weeks (a Cold War espionage setting in GURPS), for a group of people that have never played GURPS before, or even anything that isn't 5e. The first session is just going to be character finalisation and a brief training session to ease everyone (including myself) into the system. Should be fun...
