I would watch Gundou more if she did less mahjong streams. Jesus christ she plays a lot of it lately.

Considering how big the pop/teen idols was in the 2000s, and judging with how Zoomers are currently so obsessed with internet celebrities (and this applies not only to US, mind you), I can say that the idol business will be safe for the foreseeable futurei saw a youtube comment recently that went something like this:
nijisanji:
hololive :
sidebar: did anyone ever think going the idol direction wouldve been so successful especially in the EN side where edgy streamers were king? speaking for for myself i wasnt even that into anime or streamers. caught a korone clip and thought to myself, "ok shes pretty funny, ill only watch japanese vtubers, becuase en seems kind of cringe". stumbled upon a gura clip, "ok i still think english vtubers are cringe." watched more gura clips, then holomyth, then lazulight, and now here we are.
Even the "omg the Idol business is evil!" shit western people try using as excuses and arguments hasn't been a thing for a long time, even prior to Hololive. HoloEN just adapted the "I'm an Idol can't mingle with males teehee" because the western audience was young enough at the time it's more believable, especially considering it's guaranteed most who watched the few EN vtubers around didn't watch Nijisanji til NijiEN. Even HoloJP girls said the absolute only rule is they cannot date/fuck each other or staff but they're free to date. Flare and Matsuri said this that got clipped but Boton also spoke on it but was more "not really something I care to do but I'm not forbidden." I think as long as we have a viewer base that'll shit fire at the mere thought of their oshi interacting with a dude (despite they do offline) we'll always have room for Virtual agencies to form around segregation ideology.Considering how big the pop/teen idols was in the 2000s, and judging with how Zoomers are currently so obsessed with internet celebrities (and this applies not only to US, mind you), I can say that the idol business will be safe for the foreseeable future
Mind you that the "idol" business is an evolving one, and with how commercialised it is, they will continue to do so to meet the changing demands and taste
i like hololive and the way they conducts themselves now, but lets not put them on a pedestal here. remember the towa incident. where gachis heard a male voice on her stream. irc they didnt have her back and apologized for it.When Rushia recieved a message from a guy and unicorns went mad, Hololive released an statement saying that every talent was free to do whatever they wanted on their personal lives and they wouldnt ever try to interfer with that.
A Nijisanji member asks something out of pure ignorance and curiosity and this is what happens? And the fucking BASEBALL COMMUNITY pushed them to do this??? Niji is even worst than I alreade knew.
That was before the boom iirc, westaboos literally told the jp unicorns to go fuck themselves and that boosted Towa confidence that now she hang out with males with impunity, same as Akirosei like hololive and the way they conducts themselves now, but lets not put them on a pedestal here. remember the towa incident. where gachis heard a male voice on her stream. irc they didnt have her back and apologized for it.
In my opinion one of the reasons that Hololive grew faster in the west than its counterpart is because due to its idol-esque image hololive implicitly (and sometimes overtly ) caters towards gachikois. While alot of gachikois are weirdos and creeps, they are also some of the most dedicated fans. It is my firm believe that a few dedicated fans are far more valuable than thousands of casual dudes and gals watching a streamer. I am talking orders of magnitude more valuable for growing your channel/ corpo. For instance take this MVI've mentioned this before but it's still funny that the agency specialized in "idols" was the agency that first got popular outside Japan (especially the west), way before the other agency that specialized in "streamers", considering that idols aren't really something that are viewed in a positive manner.

This is to an extent true but also kind of not as the whole gender segregation thing isn't something that only exists if it's company policy. There's definitely a cultural aspect of it that causes fans to push for something on who they are watching even if it's not company policy.Botan herself has had to deal with getting somesalt thrown at her for participating in tournaments with men (clip is just one superchatter but there was a decent number of people making noise about it back then which is what caused her to address it this way) Hell even Coco recognized it when she was a holo and I remember an old clip of her and Tamaki (though I just spent like 20 minutes trying to dig it back up to no avail but tamaki clips have a habit of disappearing over time in general) Where Coco explained to Tamaki the rationale behind not collabing with men and how "viewers see watching streams as like being on a date so invite a man to collab is like inviting another man to your date with another someone."Even the "omg the Idol business is evil!" shit western people try using as excuses and arguments hasn't been a thing for a long time, even prior to Hololive. Her ex manager, iirc he was a creep doing shit like calling her out of nowhere for long ass meetings that were not about anything hololive related, Mel has a weird long history of getting harassed, poor kidand I think... wasn't Mel's stalker a cover employee too?
Yagoo house of broken girls, literally i do remember the stream where she was crying about the support she got for the western faggots, her fandom are as religious as the Soratomoss I believe she was in an accident or she was struck by a car at one point and fucked her hip up requiring surgery taking her out of streaming for a super long time.
I always believed it was a weeb thing from Japan because the based Indonesia branch just never gave a fuck and collabed with anyone they wanted, like you said there is not any company rule that forbid inter sex meetings, is just that some holos believe its not worth the hassle or because they way of operating is semi GFE , Rushia was the only one that dabbed hard on it, the rest entertain the idea but never fully commit to it, so instead of dealing with some Unicorn committing end of service is better to avoid all the problem instead, even when its proven that your average Unicorn is a faggot and a coward"well the rules don't forbid it so it doesn't exist"
Pippa has an ugly cute laugh.
Pippa hosting a movie night when the farms is as well? Oh no guys, she's abandoned us and hates the kiwifarms now.
PUBLIC STREAM TOMORROW(member’s only Shark chatting stream)My prayers have been answered, YAY GOOB.
I know there is an explicit rule against talents getting into relationships with staff members (partially due to the past controversies of staff harassing talent), but has it ever been said that there is an explicit rule against talent dating/sleeping with each other? Especially with all the baiting that goes on, particularly between Flare and Noel. I remember that the baiting between them was so strong that even other Holo talents started to openly wonder about them. I don't really watch them so I'm not completely sure, but that baiting has died off entirely hasn't it? In meantime, Noel's roommate has turned up the sex baiting on her personal accounts to near cam girl levels and cried about how her brother was getting married (she's a brocon) and she's afraid to get into relationships with guys.Even HoloJP girls said the absolute only rule is they cannot date/fuck each other or staff but they're free to date.
Oh yeah, there's a cultural aspect to it, one that Hololive themselves have encouraged with the whole "idol" BS. I mean, just compare them to Nijisanji. Niji doesn't separate its male talents away from the female ones into their own branch, and neither side has any problems collabing with the other. And this even extends to the talents themselves and how they approach the subject of relationships. For Niji, talents can, and are, openly in relationships and openly talk about their relationships, both their current ones and past ones they've been in. Holo talents, even the ones that are suspected to be in relationships, never really talk about that. The closest you get are, for example, Marine talking about crushing on girls when she went to an all-girl Catholic school. Otherwise, Holo talents are generally mum on their sexuality and relationships, outside the "business yuri" and the outliers like Marine and everybody's favorite future sexual harassment lawsuit, Matsuri. This is to an extent true but also kind of not as the whole gender segregation thing isn't something that only exists if it's company policy. There's definitely a cultural aspect of it that causes fans to push for something on who they are watching even if it's not company policy.
Nah, they more implied because of Japanese culture (honestly general but more so there) you don't want to get into bed with your co-workers because it can lead to quite a lot of issues in the workplace. The whole Flare/Noel thing is more just for the entertainment value, the "idol girls" in any "idol company" seem to have 0 issue yuribaiting or leading on that they mess around with one another yet swear off relationships or are "seiso" as it pulls in a ton of money. Basically the whole concept of not shitting where you eat.but has it ever been said that there is an explicit rule against talent dating/sleeping with each other? im pretty sure sleeping with co-worker in same deparment frowned upon in any corpo american or other wise. sleeping with a co-worker that is your surperior or junior is banned because of the power dynamic and influences on raises etc. For example in america if they find out you are dating you're manager in a corpo HR will separate you.Nah, they more implied because of Japanese culture (honestly general but more so there) you don't want to get into bed with your co-workers because it can lead to quite a lot of issues in the workplace. All that being said, I'm pretty sure the relationship between Shirayuki Tomoe (who's bisexual) and Sukoya Kana (who's probably lesbian), who formed Crossick together, was in fact real, and they were dating. Or, at least they were dating at one time: they no longer perform as Crossick, and from what I understand, at least from Youtube comments on clips, they rarely stream together anymore, if ever, so maybe the relationship has ended. Once again, I don't regularly watch so I don't know. But, this all goes back to how much more laid back Nijisanji is on this than Hololive is, because Niji aren't trying to sell themselves as an idol company. Keep in mind that the talents at these companies are less employees and more contractors (at least that's how they are employed in America, don't know what the Japanese equivalent is), so they probably don't labor under the strict rules that salaried employees, like staff members, do.im pretty sure sleeping with co-worker in same deparment frowned upon in any corpo american or other wise. sleeping with a co-worker that is your surperior or junior is banned because of the power dynamic and influences on raises etc. For example in america if they find out you are dating you're manager in a corpo HR will separate you.
im pretty sure dating someone in the same company but a different department than is okay. well at least more okay than the scenarios above. like if the girls were dating someone from their IT department or something. i count the holoboys and hologirls as basically the same corpo department
