Publishers cancel book contracts for fairly mundane reasons all the time. Quinn could have turned in a manuscript that wasn't quite what the publisher expected. Given the subject matter, there was almost certainly a "time is of the essence" clause in her contract, and she could have missed her deadline. Quinn's editor might have left Touchstone, leaving her book orphaned. Finally, Touchstone could have decided that Gamergate and Quinn just weren't relevant anymore and canceled the project.

All of those possibilities (or some combination) probably have a similar likelihood.

As much as I would love to believe that some sort of train wreck happened behind the scenes, the fact that her project is getting picked up by another mainstream publisher suggests that nothing too crazy happened.

Wasn't she at some point also going to get gastric bypass? Did she ever get the surgery? How the fuck is she paying for all this? Pateron bucks aren't enough to cover a major surgery plus lasik.

So she's publicly acknowledging that she's fat and lacks the willpower to eat right and exercise? Maybe she has a sugar daddy who she fucks for surgeries.

I would not bet money on that being true. At her heaviest she was chubby and I'm pretty sure any weight she lost was from working out.

Why is she getting laser eye surgery? Her glasses are cosmetic.

Also, that anime convention she's talking about is just for cosplay bullshit. No other developers are there.
