Some are college kids from upper middle class families. Few seem to be from actual upper class families. Most seem to be middle class to lower middle class and hold jobs in service industry. No real trades mind you, that wouldn't leave time for activism. Some of the better employed and paid Antifa, like Emily Gorcenski, are closer outliers, not means.
Antifa is well organized, has good OPSEC and maintains a violent rhetoric, but, being legally informed by orgs like the NLG, falls short of legally actionable speech. The, with BLM did 3 billion dollars in damage to Minneapolis and inspired others to do smaller violent.
They have a history of violence, subversion and sabotage and it would be very foolish to dismiss them as 'a group of college educated rich kids."
No, they are subversives doing insurgency and that's how they need to be seen and treated.
