I didn't know 16-bit games were already a thing in 1986 when home consoles were always 8-bit.
(also SALAMANDER led to Gradius III on SFC and SNES in 1990 & 1991)

More so people are finally letting go of their hoarded stash lol. There's a few of them that has stuff due to PL discords but never released to public (Elira, Pomu (though people go more than they bargined for) and Selen.)
Japan was typically ahead of the curve, the west got into the gaming market fairly late and due to the video game crash a lot of the "advanced" systems at the time didn't see a reason trying to reach out west til Nintendo took the risk.

Actually yes, they do lol. It'd be more of a culmination of everything that anykara can be like: "ok well she has a long history of being slapped on the wrist" if they take this into serious consideration.
