Iirc, the story with the shorts (in one version, idk if it was told on multiple occasions or not) was that the shorts were part of a pajama set. Drex & his daughter were staying the weekend at Nick’s house. Drex’s daughter & Nick’s oldest girl were in the kitchen at Nick’s getting breakfast before the rest of the family were awake when Drex came into the kitchen to see her in the shorts pajama set. I don’t recall that she had worn the shorts out of the house or even intended to. The fact that they existed was the issue Drex had. Tbh, I had the impression that the incredulity & outrage from Drex was mostly a performance, to illustrate that while the mother encouraged the girl dressing like a hoe by buying the outfit, Drex was the good father who wouldn’t stand for it & set boundaries.
