"Bonded out in an emergency"? Could that mean Chris had a medical situation requiring a real hospital or a family emergency (such as bereavement or hospice for Barb)?
Are you referring to this?
If so, the message just says to call 911 in case of an emergency. It's unrelated to him being bonded out.

It looks like he lost weight in the mug shot but it’s so low quality that I can’t really tell. Does he have any restrictions on internet usage? If not, expect some good stuff soon.
Oh he's far thinner. Weight loss has been achieved but he still has noodle arms. As for internet restrictions, that would be the SMART thing, but it's Virginia, so who knows?

Bond doesn't have to involve money, and in Chris' case almost definitely did not.
Bond almost certainly means money was spent.

Bail vs. Bond

The words “bail” and “bond” are often used almost interchangeably when discussing jail release, and while they are closely related to each other, they are not the same thing. Bail is the money a defendant must pay in order to get out of jail. A bond is posted on a defendant’s behalf, usually by a bail bond company, to secure his or her release.

there’s probably someone out there with a lot of money riding on Chris showing up to court now.
