It's simple: she's not the draw that people (and herself) thinks she is. Only die-hard smarks cared about her going to Japan. I have yet to see a single casual that cares..

It's still kind of hard to tell where exactly the IWGP title sits in the belt hierarchy. Above the High Speed and SWA titles for sure.

So I'm expecting AZM to get the belt, as it seems to be an appropriate spot for her. Not quite ready for the main event but she can more than hold her own in big singles matches.

Hot Take: the only reason people cared about her was she was Face Bailey's NXT foil. Now she is basically a middle of the road cunty heel for whatever woman she is up against. Without Bailey as a counter point no one really cares (barring wrestling coomers).

I feel like she a head start in popularity over the other horsewomen at first, but the gap closed over time.

Like, Charlotte is Charlotte, she’s always going to be in a good position because of who her family is, so she has nothing to worry about and no reason to try and update her character if it gets stale, but Bayley reinvigorated her entire main roster run by turning heel, and Becky, who was always viewed as the least of them (she didn’t even get to hold the NXT womens title, that’s how little of a fuck they gave about her) got a little Yes movement style push from the fans and then “The Man” eclipsed pretty much any woman on the roster for a while, and she’s still pretty over today. Sasha was always “The Boss”, no growth, no development, no real reason to care unless you already did.

Honestly I knew it was over for her when Bianca showed up on the main roster, just like the WWE has spent years trying to find a big spanish star to surpass Rey, they’d want another black female star, and Bianca is way more physically impressive and doesn’t seem like a huge mark for herself.

so we have don trying to win over takeshita and also trying to get kenny to turn on the bucks and go back to being a solo guy. this makes me think the plan is gonna be kenny turns on the young bucks who are saved by hangman then we get solo heel kenny for a bit only for don to turn on kenny in favor of takeshita who don will claim is better than kenny. then we get kenny vs takeshita. least thats what it looks like atm

The New Japan fans probably had no idea who the hell she was, why she made nice with Kairi only to attack her and botch the move, then cut a shit promo in English.

The 'surprise' appearance only works if the person is already over with the crowd or your audience are smarks.

She could head on over to ROH and face off against Billie Starkz. Same sort of character but at least Billie doesn't have a jaw that can cut glass.

What is the real wrestling sports league? Like, not professional wrestling because we all know it's basically a scripted performance like a stageplay, but wrestling like it's done in schools?

I wish I had gotten into it back in high school, it's one of a few things I could have actually been good at (that and offensive lineman, if I'd known you're not even ALLOWED to receive the ball I would have signed up).

Outside of MMA and the Olympics? There is a grappling centric tournament I'm vaguely aware of that seems like a big deal. Outside of that you won't find any kind of league because the interest isn't there.

Mercedes going to Stardom was a big deal because it was a top card WWE worker who showed all the signs of being a lifelong mark for the product walking out of the company because she just got fed up of the place.

The live reaction from the fans to her debut was sort of understandable when you consider that the fans over there don't like to see homegrown talent be bested by Westerners but they are too polite to boo so they just don't react at all which is kind of the same thing in their minds.

There isn't really a league. There's world championships for the various types (freestyle/greco-roman etc) and the Olympics and that's about it for pure wrestling. There's also submission grappling, which as the name implies combines wrestling and various other martial arts (most prominently BJJ), which has the Abu Dhabi Combat Club championships which are probably the biggest/most high profile grappling tournaments.

Not too sure what America has but Canada has the Wrestling Canada Lutte. The Durham Classic is taking place this week

Pretty sure it's common knowledge that Moxley wasn't under contract last year. Just more reasons for CM Punk to be a whinny little bitch.
Matt Jackson seems to have a torn bicep which explains the Hangman storyline with them.
