I think it’s plausible that he’s working a movie that he’s knee deep in, he doesn’t have time to entertain boxing matches and assuming he did have the time, he wouldn’t do it anyway. He doesn’t want to associate with Sam and that is always the smart move. He’s blacklisted in his entire industry for being unpredictable, self destructive and for being a “white nationalist.” Whether that’s true or not is besides the point, the industry believes that and they will link that directly to you. If he wants to say “No thanks” on that one and not put his “career” under especially on the cusp of debuting his first film, it’s a smart play. It’s not a good investment long term, regardless of short term gain.
