People with large platforms often use shooters/victims as political pawns, based on over-simplified reasoning. They start with the conclusion and whether they care about a shooting or not depends on whether the identity of the shooter is useful to their argument. If not, they just ignore it and move on.

Even if them being trans was a factor - which I suspect it probably was - it's hardly like there's an epidemic of nutty troons going on mass shootings, but the data/reality doesn't matter to a lot of people. They just want to push their agenda.
