𝕏 / Twitter / X, the Social Media Platform Formerly Known as Twitter / "MUSK OWNS TWITTER"

idk man seems pretty funny to me
imagine the fucking salt that'll flow the day some literal-who journalist wakes up, sees their checkmark gone, and has to discern whether it's real or not from a billion separate replies muddying up the information
I can't wait
The only thing better than the particular date chosen is the fact that it's nearly certainly intentional. I usually just stay away from most of the internet that day because it's annoying as fuck but this has potential to be absolutely hilarious.

Musk ballsack lickers must now upload their Government ID to Twitter.

But to conceal the burning shame of it all, they now get to hide the blue tick.

I think this may actually count as le epic lols.

You get lots of other perks by subscribing. For instance, Twitter Blue subscribers can edit their tweets within 30 minutes.
Editing your Twitter post? That's just a free feature they took away then pay walled like background play in YouTube premium. Honestly not worth paying a cent for, if anything better to use a 3rd party app that lets you use paid features for free even if it costs more in time and effort out of principle. That's why i used a vanced clone for YouTube with all the paid features free. If more people refused to pay for that sort of thing they would do it less.

Can you even do that on twitter? Unless Musk is severely incompetent (it's always possible) I would imagine that feature would be guarded server side with no way to unlock it on client side (unlike Vanced and playing videos in the background).

Not entirely sure myself, i'd imagine there may be at least one for editing posts but aside from that idk. I don't use Twitter anyway but i'd try and look for ways around paywall if i did. Speaking of paywalls, one way to get around subscribe paywalls for news articles or quora is to run the page through google translation.

Has he driven Twitter into the ground yet? No? Sweet.

Look, either he somehow manages to make the site better, or runs in into the ground never to return - honestly, either option is a win in my book. The boring outcome - and thus most likely - is that nothing changes and Twitter remains a Blue Hellsite, we just get to milk more people malding about Elon.

The site barely functions right now. Every time I log in there are days old tweets at the top of my feed, scroll regularly fails to load, and hacked celebrity accounts are offering $600 MacBooks.

I didn't even know what paper.li was. It looks like it's content aggregation for twitter?
Yes. It put Twitter search results into a layout like a newspaper, so people could pretend to publish Atheism Today, or Fedora Review, or whatever, at no cost.

The business model was to convince some idiots that this service counted as "marketing", and get them to pay about $12 a month for the premium tier.

Might have generated some income when Twitter provided data for free, but there's obviously not enough suckers to make it pay when there's an input cost. I expect to see more sites like this going down the pan in the next few weeks.
