If i may Sperg for a bit I had been thinking about this about this throughout the day, since my church is part of this denomination. and i Find it saddening but these are my thoughts.
Thought 1. God is sovereign over everything good and every thing bad this means he reigns over everything, and his will, will be done. As Presbyterians we are Calvinist which means we believe God is in control over everything., which we believe when God created the world he Predestined who would be saved and who wont. God will never Forsake his people. Thought 2: We must also console the families who lost loved ones and pray and if able reach out to and console them. However we can also as Christians rejoice that these young people will be reunited with Christ, in heaven. For God always brings his people to him. These people who lost their lives are martyr sthey did die for their faith died for their faith even at the time they didn't realize it yet., and will be rewarded." (For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it." Luke 9:24) The last thought, and the one the unrepentant people here and in the world need to understand. The shooter now is dead and finds herself in hell. She was not one of God's people and now finds herself in a permanent state of misery anyone reading this who is not with Christ needs to repent and become born anew. Although God will save who he wills people go to hell by their own choice. It wasn't God who pulled the trigger while God choses who will be with him be, Gods i not the author of sin, everyone in hell is there by their own action. I As it is written, “Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated.”” Romans 9:13).

Seems schools, particularly elementary schools, are one of the least protected places, unlike courthouses or other government-funded places. (Nobody gets shot at an IRS building, do they?)

As much as I would like to agree, I do need to point out the context regarding the second paragraph. If your referring to the murders of Alison Park and Adam Ward by Vester Lee Vannigan II; it's much more complicated then that. The guy has, to put it bluntly, a psychopathic track record, according to the Wikipedia page. Also, I remember the news stories covering this non-stop for a few days.
Putting the other questions aside, because I don't have any responses for them atm; I do want to focus on this question. As someone who grew up on the internet; I can tell you firsthand that the comments section is a horrible place to have dialogue and discussion. With many of the sites that have comments sections also having an upvote/downvote button, it turns into a perverse shout fest where people easily argue and insult each other because it is disconnected from real life while also gaining votes/likes, which results in a cycle. There's a reason why one of the oldest internet sayings is "Don't Look at the Comments". And that doesn't even get into trolls who hijack the comments section by saying the most insane and offensive shit on any given news article just to get a reaction out of people.
