I know you're reading this thread. So let me give you some genuine, actual advice. No shitposting.

Firstly, it's hard for me to tell you anything in detail because you lie so fucking much. So much so that I can't believe literally anything you say. So I don't know if you really were the victim of sexual abuse as a child, for example. So I don't know what you're actually dealing with upstairs, but I can take a guess.

You probably were a precocious child. You may not have programmed a flight simulator at age 4 (again, stop fucking lying, it makes this way more difficult) but I reckon you did have an early enthusiasm for computing, and that was unusual in the late 80s. You may have been academically hothoused or called a "gifted child". For definite you were bullied at school, and maybe your parents tried to help you cope by saying "some day you will be a huge success and a super-genius computer guy and rich and powerful, and you'll be able to laugh at the kids that called you names from your techno-mansion". Whilst these things were intended to encourage you, what they did was instil a huge sense of destiny in you, an expectation of success in tech that became the cornerstone of your self-image and self-worth. Anything less than being the next Bill Gates would constitute failure.

And later, when you joined Microsoft, albeit at the bottom of the ladder and not even working for MS proper, you saw that as an important stage in the fulfilment of your destiny. You got engaged, those kids can't call you a virgin ever again! you got promoted! You were on the path. It was happening. Shane was going to make it!

Then it all went wrong. Your health (physical, mental, maybe both, again you tell so many lies it's hard to unpick) failed you and you couldn't hack even the basic MS jobs you had, let alone make your way up the ladder. You ended up on disability. Your wife left you. The thought began to dawn that you were going to be ... a failure!

The one thing you don't exaggerate or even go into any detail about is what exactly your medical diagnoses actually are. "Neuromuscular issues" could mean anything from diabetes to epilepsy. Whatever it is, your silence on it (whilst divulging anything else to anyone else) shows that you feel ashamed of it. You'll never have what was promised to you, and it was your own fucking body that betrayed you. That fucking sucks, no doubt about it.

You couldn't deal with that, at all. No way, was Shane, the next king of tech, a failure! So you retreated into a fantasy world where you really had the career you always wanted. And if you could convince other people of that, you would be treated with the respect, fear and reverence you wanted to be, even since those kids at school would kick your ass and steal your lunch money. So you did what so many bullying victims did, and became a bully yourself. You threatened and lied your way across the internet, trying to make little kids afraid of your super-elite hacking skills and your law enforcement experience. If other people thought it was true, then that's nearly as good as it really being true, right? Perception is reality. One of the success gurus whose audiotapes you listened to told you that. Fake it till you make it.

Am I way off? I'll bet the above is at least 80% correct, you project that shit like an IMAX. Sorry dude but it's really obvious, that's why you don't get much traction when you try to intimidate people.

But then one day you tried to bully people who could bully you back, and you unleashed a shitstorm the likes of which you have never dealt with before. Now you're panicking, bouncing back and forth between hiding, continuing the LARP, trying to roll with the punches, trying to play the puppetmaster. None of them seem to be working. What do you do?

Let me tell you what to do.

- Disconnect from the internet. Completely. The Rascals are an intense bunch, but they have short attention spans and Pat Tomlinson is their real interest anyway. Kiwis have strict rules about not trolling people offsite and believe it or not they follow those rules. Lie low for a bit (like 3 months) and cut out the LARPing. Change your Twitter handle maybe and CHANGE YOUR FUCKING PASSWORDS.
- Get a different hobby that doesn't involve you taking out your frustrations on other people. Even if it's just videogames or anime. You can't trust yourself to engage with other people yet, not till you've sorted out your psychological issues.
- Speaking of that, get therapy. Find a therapist who specialises in chronic illness. You have clearly not come to terms with being sick and it's destroying your life. I suspect it destroyed your marriage as well.
- Talk to your girlfriend. Either she doesn't know what you get up to on the internet or she doesn't know how bad it is for you. Get her help in re-focusing yourself elsewhere. You can be your real self around her, not super-hacker Shane, take advantage of that. She knows you better than anyone, and if she won't help you need to be with someone else. And if you're staying with her for fear you can't do better, you always can, and even no relationship is better than a bad relationship.
- Find a new way to define yourself. This is the most difficult one, but if you achieve it it will solve all your other problems. You won't have to pretend to be this fantasy superhacker, which was ruining your life, making you hated across the internet and preventing you from dealing with your issues.

Or carry on trying to intimidate and bully strangers on the internet. We'd certainly find that very entertaining.

You're not wrong, but I think his libshittery is a means to an end, not an end in itself. Like many of the NPC Jimmy Kimmel Orange Man Bad liberal cows we follow, I suspect that following the crowd is just a way for him to have some enemies to fight. If you've been picked on all your life, shitting on someone else feels good, or rather it would if you didn't feel guilty about making another human feel like shit the way you did when you were the victim. But with one daily dose of libshit (tm) you can be as vicious as you like to someone, don't worry, they're not human, CNN said so!
