Also, I'm gay, so I wouldn't vote for it, but at least it's progress over things like "prove you need it" or "letters of character reference" or "may issue" laws.
You could reduce it to 99.999% if your limit was "married white women", though.

Seems to me that the best way forward would be for people to stop reinforcing the deranged delusions of mentally ill people, and just sitck them in a lunatic asylum the way we used to.

There is discussion about Gun Control and Mental Health, but I believe there is only one solution to the problem of Mass Shootings (specifically ones targeting children).
Countless veterans would love to have gainful employment, they're experienced and, I'm sure, could be repurposed for security via some extra training for schools.
Make it so that whenever these freaks and mass murderers have an idea to target a school, they don't make it past the door, schools at the moment are intentionally left as soft targets, and even when they have security, they are often not fit for purpose.
There's a reason why these freaks always attack educational institutions filled with children rather than anything that would align with their manifesto (or another public place).
They see them as easy targets, and no matter how incompetent they are, they'll still be able to take a few innocents with them rather than get one-shotted by a random civilian with a conceal-carry permit if they went to the local mall.

I think it should be noted how in this case, Parkland, and Uvalde a failure on the schools part was a major driving force in why the shooting happened the way it happened.
Parkland: A exterior door was left unlocked by staff, allowing the shooter to enter into the stairwell and get prepared while still being hidden from view by anyone in the building (excluding the one student who entered the stairwell and then ran out the door the shooter entered.)
Uvalde: Staff had left a rear door propped open, I believe for the purpose of smoke breaks, a staff member who was outside when the shooting started and was shot at failed to properly remove the rock propping the door open, leaving the door open for the shooter to enter through.
Covenant: The Door the shooter shot out and entered through was not properly reinforced, i have seen people say a door like that should have had a film on it to prevent the glass from being shot out, though i am unaware if that is regulation or not, it would have helped.
