Resident Evil - Virgin Vampire Wine Mom vs Chad Magnetic Lebowski

Im about to get this soon, im a nigga thats finished OG RE4 around a dozen times across multiple platforms, like to believe i know every detail, strat and all that good shit about it

Is normal good enough difficulty or should i go straight to Hardcore

Speaking of censor, the insectoids acid no longer melts off part of Leon's face in the death animation
I kinda expected them to keep that in once I saw how Leon still had plenty of death animations where he got blown to chunks by explosives, got decapitated, or got bisected at the waist.

It's also weird that they removed the chainsaw decap which is probably the most iconic death in the original, when Leon still gets constantly decapitated if he dies from Plaga heads and even Villagers in some cases.

I don't mind the new chainsaw death but since his torso doesn't split in half, it just looks like he's covered in jelly. It should just rotate between that and decapitations.

Still remember the shock from getting chainsaw'd for the first time in OG RE4. Wasn't expecting it to be a one hit kill, nor for it to be that gruesome
it was quick, clean, and brutal. the shock value is how instantaneous it is, whereas there's too much waiting around for most of the kills in re4make.

RE4 and CoD:WaW are the two games that I consider to have perfect blood. It's hard to explain, but the deep crimson of the blood just added to the carnage of each kill imo.

God damn I love the head topple. It's like: Huh, that was you! You've just been completely separated from that body you were piloting.

A friend of mine pirated 3make and I still want my money back.

Everybody shits on RE6, and while I agree it isn't a good RE game, it is a fun game. The older I get, the more I appreciate it.
RE6 is also the game that actually needs a remake just to make it tonally consistent.

I'm torn. I just started RE4 on the Switch and despite minor control issues (i'm using pro controller btw) its pretty fun so far. No Ada yet though...

I saw some Ada vids on YouTube only to discover that they were mods. So disappointing. Its worse when you remember she was supposed to be the protagonist of Village.

So far my RE experience is Revelations 1 & 2, RE2 Remake, RE7, RE8, and now the original RE4. (I briefly played the RE1 Wii port and the RE3 Remake demo)

Dare I ask if I got the better game? (Its on sale for 10 bucks) I am curious as to the length of 4 compared to the remake. I imagine with Ada's levels and whatever else is in the game its a pretty sizable time.

she was supposed to be the protagonist of Village.
i don't know about being protagonist, but she should have appeared. unlockable concept art in RE8 explains as much. long-time fans will notice that Ada has always appeared in every two mainline games, and in the second CG movie; she appeared in RE2, RE4, RE6, and was meant to appear in RE8, she also appeared in RE: Damnation. this solid streak over actual decades was another thing broken by RE8 that also continues to bother the hell out of me, especially because there appears to be a determined attempt to assassinate her character.

I spent probably about an hour trying to get all tokens from the first shooting gallery minigame before the lake section. I then forgot to save, proceeded towards the lake and decided to check if shooting the water from the peer had the same outcome as in the original RE4. It turns out that it does, and now I have to do all that target practice again.

Played RE4 on the PS2. so I went with hardcore because the remake said it's for people who've played the original before. It only took me until the village to realize that I only beat the game because I spammed the knife.

im getting fucking trashed in the first fucking village lmao
You can't really pull back or play defensively like the OG. The enemies are so aggressive you pretty much need to be on offense at all times. Synthetic Man got fucked a bunch of times in his stream because he kept trying to play it like the 2004 version.

Also probably 70% of enemies will turn parasite head as opposed to 25% or so in the OG. Buy the flash bang recipe as soon as it is available from the merchant.

Lastly even though Hardcore is advertised as standard if you've played the original it's pretty fucking difficult. I'd say even normal is harder than the OG on hard and maybe even professional. this is a significantly more difficult game all around.
