Nintendo Switch (Currently Plagued) - Here we shit post about the new Nintendo console, The Switch

Do people really think that Nintendo is going to release BOTW2 and it is going to be broken and shitty?

I mean sure, I suppose it could happen. But I have my doubts that a company's flagship product that has been years in the making is going to completely bomb and look as if it were developed by vo-tech students. Especially when that company is Nintendo. I don't think their competition would release a bad product if they were in the same position. Sony would produce something good and Microsoft doesn't have to worry about it because Microsoft doesn't make video games.

It's going to be just fine. At worst it will be too much of the same from BOTW, in which case you'll have a fun game to play for a few dozen hours. At best you're going to get a game that improves upon its predecessor's ideas and shores up its deficiencies.
I would say most people are more worried about it being a BOTW reskin (rightfully so) since it started life as an expansion in the first place. Since Elden Ring I'm going to need something more than more BOTW to really impress me.

Nintendo fanboy faggots will lick miyamotos balls either way even if it is just a big 70$ expansion.

it goes on and on of just dicksucking.

I recall talk about how most of the people who played BoTW had never played Zelda before, and it seems like we are seeing the results of that, new Zelda game that isn't a Zelda game in the slightest. The worst part is its going to sell gangbusters and Nintendo probably wont make traditional Zeldas anymore...

Game will be a huge success because they are definitely betting on the "funny kills compilation" crowd with all the crafting gimmick, the type of influencers who grew on the last decade by making arbitrary challenges like "can you beat skyrim with a fork?" and manage to gather at least half million views per video, with this I am already expecting the "can you beat TOTK bosses on a motorboat?" types of videos.

Yeah it's a lot of Young Zoomers who have never played a proper Zelda who suck the dick of breath of the wild. Great game, but I'm a little tired of the endless praise it gets. It's not perfect, it has shit sidequests for an open world game and the weapon system Is garbage. Even Skyrim was deeper than that game

I don't really care for games that are 'sandboxes', because if the game wants me to invent my own fun or build things, at that point I just want to work on my own projects instead. Why waste creative effort on something that isn't an actual project?
The same reason someone would make a random sketch or experiment with a dish. Why not?

Sometimes it's just good to flex those creative muscles rather it be through games or anything else. It doesn't have to always serve a practical purpose.

They didn't even bother to slightly update the visuals or change any of the music tracks (birds honk exactly the same, horse music track is the exact same, etc). The map looks very similar and all the new additions seem small and like glorified shrines at best.

What's the point of this again?

Oh wait, duh, it's to suck 70 bucks extra from consoomer pockets and get away with raising the price for nothing.

I don't think TOTK'll fail, but I don't think it'll do as well as BOTW did. Especially not after the first month or two once it's been fully played through by most people. I'm seriously convinced this is an exercise in getting away with robbery at this point because there is 0 reason to raise the price beyond testing waters. Hell, this should be fucking discounted, and yet it costs more than the original game.

I get that, I mean with long term stuff or something that would be a time sink. I can't play Minecraft for very long because of this.

The game is a Zelda game, but Zelda is essentially two different franchises. I remember way before BOTW, there were people, I believe Hansen being the main one, who would shit on Ocarina and the 3D titles for not understanding Zelda. Zelda 1 was pretty much just BOTW, a game focused around a large open world full of cryptic bullshit with the main selling point being to find the secrets of the world. Personally, I always enjoyed 2D Zelda over 3D, and much of that is having less linear design than the 3D titles. in saying this, Zelda has like two fanbases now that are pretty much juxtaposed. One wants exploration and to have freedom, the other wants more linear design with emphasis on dungeons/puzzles.

BOTW is just 3D Land for Zelda. They took the design of the NES titles and applied it to 3D to try to mend the divide in fan bases. Only for such a decision to backfire.

I adore the fuse system. First off, it’s just cool. Being able to stick a rock to a weapon got a good laugh out of me, and combining two long weapons to make a really long weapon looks fun. But what I really like is that it’s a response to some of the common complaints from BotW. I especially like that they used a tree branch as the first example by showing how quickly it breaks before adding that, with proper fusing, even a weak weapon can have its durability and strength significantly improved. The durability system is still here (which I still argue is essential to the game’s combat), but there are clever ways to get around it, and it incentivizes you to care about all kinds of items. It also makes materials more useful beyond selling/trading since you can combine them with your existing weapons and arrows. And being able to combine other items lets you make whatever weird things you can think of, expanding on people making things like flying mine carts in BotW.

The other additions look good too, but this is the type of new mechanic I was hoping for: something that compliments the systems from the original game while awarding creativity.

DUNGEONS DECONFIRMED.

Anyways, it looks cool. They were teasing the shit out of more stuff but we will probably see more of it in the final trailer we get next month, or a direct. We got new story that's not in flashbacks and a cool expansion on the physics shit from BOTW so some of the complaints have definitely been addressed. Dungeons is all that remains.

The new mechanics look pretty cool, and I really like that there are finally some caves, something the first game should have, but I am extremely disappointed on how underwhelming it all feels tbh I truely hope there is something more traditional zelda like in this game, like actual dungeons, but they dont want to show them to keep them like a big surprise or something.

Pre-orders of Tears of Kingdom in Japan surpassed Breath of the Wild's, across several retailers (including COMG), and that was before today's gameplay reveal.

This was posted on the GBATemp thread. Looks like a packing line. Expect an XCI dump soon if they are already shipping them out. Smash bros only leaked like a week or two early if I recall, Xenoblade 3 and DE was a week early. If this does end up leaking soon it would be the earliest leak yet.
