I'm a leftist and I think that firearms should be restricted to people who are trained and mentally well to own, but these attacks like school shootings are not a gun problem. You can ban guns and people would still do such attacks with another things, like IEDs or knives. Firearms are just tools. Banning guns won't discourage violent people. With or without guns, violent people will be violent.
