The difference is probably that Bytes actually puts in time and effort into the videos rather than pay someone to cut out pieces of a live stream. She appears to even have a script, or at least an outline, whereas Nick's 1-minute video announcing an upcoming interview required multiple jump cuts. At least 3, I recall.

When new viewers click on one of her videos they get a slick, well prepared and produced video that is designed to be viewed in that 10-30 minute format.

When viewers click on one of Nick's videos they get a 10-30 minute clip yanked out of a 3 hour stream without context. There is no script, at best there's a news article or document he's reading, and depending on the night and how late in the stream it is, Nick may be intoxicated.

I'm surprised that the disparity is as small as it is, quite frankly. Nick could probably improve how he's being treated by the algorithm quite a bit by just stopping putting out these terrible clip videos. Let the people who want to watch your stream watch your stream. Maybe pay someone to timestamp the streams.

I would be intensely skeptical of any claim of algorithmic malfeasance.

Nick did the same thing with his subscriber rant along the lines of: This algorithm... Every time I stream, I lose 100 subscribers!

What actually happened is not an algorithm deciding to unsub people, what happened is every night Nick fires up his stream more and more people say "I'm still subscribed to that slimeball?" And magically, when Nick decided to stream the Murdaugh trial, making content that people actually subbed for and for an audience that largely does not know of what he's said and done on the regular show, he reversed his subscriber decline and actually gained subscribers. Does that mean there was someone at YouTube who was turning a knob somewhere to say "Let's give Rekieta a little boost?" No.

It does seem very much to me like the bigger name creators aren't showing up on Nick's channel anymore.

The reality is Nick is now in a worst-of-both-worlds situation where he expresses political and social views that people like Emily Baker (whose content is largely apolitical as far as I can tell) will not want to be too tightly linked to, but demonstrates libertinism in his personal life that people like Viva won't want to be linked to either.
