Online Social Justice Movements and Countermovements
Online interactions, primarily in the form of social media, have played a key role in many recent conflicts over social justice issues (such as sexism, racism, classism, homophobia, etc.), such as bringing attention to and hosting arguments about the events in Ferguson. While both social justice issues and online interactions have been studied, the expanding intersection of these remains relatively untouched. This proposed investigation will explore the nature of online conflicts over social justice issues, in order to ascertain common patterns, structures, and future lines of inquiry. Traditional survey, interview, and observation methods, along with computational analysis (including machine learning techniques) of text and other bulk data (especially social network structures) will be employed.

While I understand that her dad couldn't stand her shit any longer, I'd say that he probably sort of fucked up her upbringing -- people do not turn into SJW bizarros all by themselves (just looking at tumblr won't cause a stream of SJW viruses to infect your system and transform you into a social justice zombie). I disagree. Her father seems to be loving enough to put up with her fuckery and foot the bill for so long, despite her constant "I HATE YOU, DADDY!" bullshit. I've seen enough families where the parents do everything right, and still end up with wastes of space like Leah. It's usually due to the kid being so super socially awkward that they have no real life friends and turn to Tumblr for the acceptance they crave - then it's all downhill from there.
The childishness get me too. All the talk about pillow forts and the like - it shows an extreme resistance to growing up and moving past all that. Granted, we all have our childish moments of nostalgia, but given what I've already seen, it's clear that it's more than nostalgia for her. It's a willing denial of the reality that she's an adult.
