Resident Evil - Virgin Vampire Wine Mom vs Chad Magnetic Lebowski

Give Sheva a magnum during a boss fight and she will Eagle Eye their weak spot from across the room perfectly. Makes some bosses a breeze. Doesn't work on all of them though lol.
I don't understand why people bitched about her AI. I never had a single issue with her. Oh she fired an RPG? Why the fuck did you give it to her anyway?

I only started a bit of RE5 a few weeks back and I'll finish it after I'm satiated with RE4R.

I'm going to start going for S+ Pro tomorrow night. I found some playthroughs on YT to use. I would like to get to Del Lago or just past him before I start saving. You only get 15 of them and I want to use them mostly in Castle and Island. I'm going to buy an RPG for Saddler so I can just whack him early.

There's also some "skips" you can do that aren't even glitches. Like opening some gates and doors early if you know what to do before hand. Like some of the gates in the castle you can open early with grenades and skip entire sections. There's bigger skips in PC since the framerate is higher.

Honestly the only game Capcom actually needs to remake is Code Veeonica. That was my first RE game, and it kinda fucking sucks. It's not even due to tank controls. It's because the game is fundamentally broken at a few points. Namely the Tyrant boss fight that it's all too easy to get softlocked on, and the Steve fight where you literally can't avoid taking damage.

If they remade it and only fixed those two issues and also redid the laughably bad voice acting (as much as I love it), it would be genuinely fantastic.

I wish a mod came out for RE5 that replaced all bosses with majini and didn't have the plagas mutations. Call it resident evil south africa edition.

Speaking of censor, the insectoids acid no longer melts off part of Leon's face in the death animation
I'm legitimately more annoyed with that not making it to the remake rather than Leon getting his head decapitated.

Like the new Chainsaw Death still is pretty brutal. Yeah if I were top brass at Capcom the new Chainsaw death and the original would be in the remake.

But Leon's face being melted by acid was the most eye catching death from my childhood memory. I think about that kill screen and I can remember my childhood bedroom.

You know, I legit am dreading when talks of a RE5 remake start coming up (because we all know its inevitable at this point) because we know that journalists will be salivating at the mouth to begin to talk about OG RE5 on how its a "problematic" game and how Capcom must "fix it" in the remake. Like decreasing the number of black people being shot and you can forget having those native tribals, that section will be reduced, severely altered if not outright removed altogether.
In spite of its alleged racism, Resident Evil 5 became the best-selling RE game (almost 15 million copies), so if Capcom decides to remake it, I don't think they will care what some "journalists" say. Especially after Hogwarts Legacy demonstrated very clearly that weepy thinkpieces on the Internet have no effect on the real world.

I got giga fucked by only having one save file and saving just before a boss fight after (and i forget here) escaping from the starting island? So I couldn't go back and find ammo or health

I never got all the "QTEs are sooooo bad" thing, I'm not saying it's a creative mechanic or anything, but it seems like one of the least offensive gaming things nowadays, tho I mostly play fighting games, so maybe I'm not getting the full picture.
Like scriped linear games, modern army games, and Ubisoft open worlds, the original games that started the trend weren't bad. QTEs are fine in Shenmue and RE4. Where it became a problem was games lazily throwing them in and killing the fun. Mercenaries 2 is a bad for this and is one of the reasons I'm hesitant to replay it. RE6 gets shit on for QTEs as well.

I never got the whole doomerism about Capcom. save for the niggering of some of their franchises, the games themselves have ranged from acceptable to great.
There are two things.

First, there was a leak a while ago which included slides for how they could/should implement wokeshit in their games.

Second, "acceptable" is a broad term. One thing that bothers me is that so many shit games are being reappraised as "hidden gems" when they aren't. It's just the standard of AAA has fallen so far that games that were mediocre or even bad seem good in comparison. This isn't just in games, but all media.

It's really amazing how quick some people went from shitting all over this to buying it.
Consoomers got to consoom, and rage bait YouTubers got to get those clicks.

Does RE5 still hold up today or is it going to be janky af?
I like it, though I've not played it in a while.

And fix the backtracking. That game was a tangled, convoluted mess to navigate.

CV is one game I don't think I would mind major changes to the game world since for one, most of it is boring as fuck and two it's pacing built around it and backtracking is painful.

RE4R like I mentioned pages back is how you trim some fat without destroying it. RE4R main issue is that the movement in it is shitty compared to even the games right before it. You had a stranglehold on Leon's movement in the original and they limit that here for "realism." And removing lasers was idiotic since now unless the laser is on your gone (when it's just pistols now) you're not guaranteed to hit what you're aiming at. This is why RE4 OG will still live on and continue to be played since it's more responsive to the player. And the other sticking point is Ashley's bad AI. It's like if you're not looking at her, enemies teleport to her to grab her. The cemetery section is awful the first time, at least for me.

It's still a 9/10 game but it's just got these little things that drive me nuts. I'm just glad the running speed is good and not that fast walk shit from 2make.

I know this turns CV into a journalists dream, but the infinite herb glitch makes the game a joke.

The thing about CV is it’s just a really bad game. I think the bad voice acting is hilarious, but other than that it’s a massive slog. It’s the one resident evil game that needs a remake, badly.

I don’t like how badly they nerfed the Red 9. It was my favorite gun in the game. I’ve decided to stick with the original pistol and I think once I get to the island and get the MP5 I’m gonna sell my shotgun cuz god damn I’m tired of not having shotgun ammo and this game hands out large resources like Candy. SMG, Pistol and Rifle combo seem like the weapons to use in the remake.

It's probably just me, but why the voice of Merchant and Mike heli guy are British in RE4Remake? Did CAPCOM really have to save the money by not hiring actual VAs? IIRC European VAs are usually cheaper to hire, especially British.

Don't get me started with Krauser, Luis, Ashley, and Ada's VAs. I can't fucking stand it.

Capcom obviously saw the TMP bad! Memes from the original because in this one TMP good, TMP very good.

It's so weird the shotgun shells are so rare in this and the shotguns are beefed up compared to what they were in 2make.

Red 9 had it's balls cut off. Even with the stock it's not nearly as good for quick shooting as the smaller pistols.

I always liked the TMP for key scenarios. El Gigantes and the truck section primarily. Good weapon to max out and mag dump into a boss for an easy rape.

I had no time to play this during the week but tonight after work I'm jumping in. I think I have all the early skips committed to memory. You can shave off so much time. Like 10 minute chunks. Cheese all the village and castle boss fights.
