All nice and dandy except there is one teeny tiny problem with this.

Naruto still busted his ass and proven himself respected by the village BEFORE his fancy lineage became known to the public.
As a matter of fact, the relevant authorities still knew about his lineage and still had him go through commoners trial and tribulations.
But alas, the guy literally says in the first line of the video he "I dont know much about Naruto" so what would you expect?

I don't think eating ramen and whining about Sasuke much of the time counts as busting one's ass. Also, "I don't know much about Naruto" is obviously a joke?

Anyone wanna help me find an old anime? A specific English dub, actually?

Part of the problem is its called Space Warriors... which like, a million different shows were called that. The one I'm looking for was published by (I think) US Manga Corps on VHS, and has a Star Wars-like opening text crawl that specifically mentions its about Locke the Superman and the Space Pirate Lord Leon.

And yes, I COULD just watch a fansub of the Japanese, but the English dub had an original soundtrack including an ass-kickin opening song. Yeah I can find the opening but not the entire fucking movie.

Anyway, let me know if you can help!

Thanks in advance!

If his preface to a 40 minute video essay, which I assume he wants to be taken seriously, is started with a non-serious joke then either this guy is retarded or a troll.

Then tell me, are you joking right now?

Or did you fell asleep when Naruto did the following:
- Helped liberate Land of the Waves
- Reached Chunnin Exam finals
- Saved Konoha from Gaara's One tail rampage
- Contributed to tracking down and bringing back one of the Sanin as a new Hokage
- Contributed to saving Gaara
- Took out Kakuzu
- Literally saved Konoha from Pain
<this is the part he finally gets acknowledged and his lineage isn't established yet)
- And finally greatly contribute to the 4th Ninja War

Yeah he has emotional episodes at times. It's called being human.

Yes, plot armor is quite incredible.

That's some high tier projection going on here, Naruto is like 12 in the start of the show, you can't really say anything about his personality dictating his future, not to mention some of his pranks show he can be legitimately hard working and clever when he focuses on something. He also has the same education other ninjas had. He also takes a long time to be the special, at the very least until the Chuunin exam rather than MHA that had the main character be immediately loved by everyone after entering the school.

The point of contention with Naruto is that it doesn't play its "hard work" moral 100% of the time, but adds genetics and fate into the mix. Which is realistic in the end of the day. You can still get far with hard work, but a man without legs won't be able to win a marathon.

Exactly.

I read Call of the Night it's okay, but it's pro-hag propaganda. I like how vampires in setting are more enigmatic than most Western ones, they themselves are unsure how they work and some of them find immortality boring.

The main character isn't the worst and his relationships elevate him as an MC. Latest arc spoilers: The 500 year old hag arc just ended with his Childhood friend basically commit suicide with a 500 woman who for the last 500 years has been suckin' and fuckin' creating assloads of vampires because it's been a giant WOMAN MOMENT because she doesn't undertsand her own feelings. The childhood friend was literally a little boy who she feel in love with and who's family fell apart after his brother died.

The issue with Naruto is that it glossed over how crappy Naruto’s position was. He effectively was a WMD, and in his world they tend to be faulty like Gaara or in a rare case Bee (best character in Naruto) where despite the acclaim and favor shown to him because of his accomplishments he deals with problems of his movement being restricted.

Both Neji and Naruto have a certain status based upon whom they were born to, however, certain factors fuck them over. However, Neji basically has a pissy mentality that makes him tear down others despite literally fighting against his “fate”. Naruto after the first chapter of the manga is aware of his condition and is fighting against it.

Also, Lee is a idiot savant. He literally has a power that puts him way above most of the setting because how high it scales. Despite his handicap he’s inclined toward the Gates which not everyone can do.

The biggest problem with Naruto is that they didn’t explore the setting as much as they could. The village was founded barely 100 years ago and prior to that it was effectively Africa.

I’m guessing Kanojo mo Kanojo is going to end soon, because the last chapter had another attempt at drama:

The reason I also think it’s going to end soon is because I saw Mirika now close to being desperate:

It was then after the fact I saw that this was the recent announcement of what the new volume for Kanojo mo Kanojo looks like:

I guess the writing’s on the wall, but HIROYUKI really needs to chill out with these cliffhangers. :lit:

So far, this recent part of the story now has six parts to the story. The last time a story like this had long parts was when Saki had to question whether or not Nagisa and Shion really wanted to be a part of his harem, only for both of them beating her to a punch and realizing that they need her more than they need Naoya. It lasted for about 10 parts. Either way, I know now this one will end pretty soon.

Would anybody here recommend the Jujutsu Kaisen manga? The anime didn't really impress me besides having consistently great animation every episode and I'm not a fan of the manga's art style but if the story gets a lot better then I'd read it.

This dude needs to stop making bad opinion pieces and go back to making animations because those are actually good and funny.
I don't really think the Indra and Ashura shit matters when it was literally at the last second for the sake of giving Naruto and Sasuke a powerup and obviously was not planned. I remember a dumb complaint he made of Naruto being so strong because he was trained by really legendary people and that being unfair but the leaf village is comprised of big clans with jutsu and techniques unique to them. None of them are seeking out mentors like Naruto because family is teaching them and that might actually be to their detriment since it seems that people not from big clans like Naruto, Sakura, Kakashi, Orochimaru, Jiraya and Guy end up being some of the strongest characters since they need to seek out strength on their own instead of being set in their ways due to family giving them all they need to being just proficient. Nobody wants to read a huge deboonk so I'll stop there but yeah, I thought the video was dumb and I'm pretty sure the entire Naruto fanbase does too.

How is Black Clover anime? Show it will be in a few weeks on my family Netflix, I think I remember some people here saying it was underappreciated.
Adding on to what others have said, it's rather entertaining, especially for someone like me who's generally tired of the battle shonen genre. It doesn't reinvent the wheel or anything, but it sticks to its strengths and keeps a consistent level of quality throughout.

One of those strengths is in its massive cast of characters, none of which I outright hate, and that's a damn rarity. A lot of shonen series, you'll have your favorites, ones you can't stand, and then a bunch of one-note nobodies that are just there to take up space. Characters that seemed like they might have been important at the start are forgotten as the story revolves around the MC and his rival. Tabata, meanwhile, somehow manages to give time to just about everybody, and characters you haven't seen in a while will come back and get more development. The Black Bulls are given the most, of course, but everyone gets a chance to shine.

Asta is also one of the most likable shonen protagonists I can think of. At first he seems pretty basic, always training his body to make up for his utter lack of magic, his only volume setting being loud, and going on and on about how he's going to be the Wizard King somehow. But he's also unfailingly optimistic, trying to befriend everyone he meets (including villains, and often succeeding), and wanting to talk through problems instead of immediately resorting to a punch to the face. Granted, when push comes to shove, he will give it his all in a fight and then some, refusing to give up even when all the odds are stacked against him (leading to one of my unironic favorite lines in the series). And despite the fact that a ridiculous amount of women characters are openly lusting after him, he remains oblivious to their advances because he only has eyes for his one true love, the nun who he can't marry. He's definitely a protagonist you love to root for.

I think the biggest issue with why it didn't become such a big hit with audiences is down to timing. BC started in February 2015, coming just after Naruto ended in November 2014, and due to its similar premise (in a magical fantasy world, orphan boy that nobody expects anything of has ambitions to become the ruler, insert plot device to give him powers), a lot of people wrote it off as just a Naruto copycat and ignored it. It didn't help that MHA had been running for a few months at that point, and its seemingly fresh premise and the capeshit boom drew readers towards it as a superior option. It took a while for people to reevaluate their initial takes and find that BC was actually pretty good, but I think it's doing well enough for itself now.

(I thought MHA was intriguing at the start, but despite a fresh setting, I find that it's even more standard tropey shonen than BC, and a lot less fun. I didn't like most of the cast, Deku is a garbage protagonist, and the plots were boring and predictable. But that's my opinion.)

I have yet to read the manga, been meaning to get around to it ever since the anime finished its run on Toonami. I wonder if they'll keep the old model of doing weekly episodes until they run out of material, or shift to a seasonal model instead to avoid needing more filler.

Honestly MHA is really sad. The first two thirds of the story were really great and really interesting characters. But then the author decided to speedrun to the ending and never once ever thought of taking a break which resulted in a story where each chapter is just trying super hard to have hype moments, most of the supporting characters being a collective bore, and each chapter ending with an epic cliffhanger where the next chapter has a flashback to show how it happened.

Not to mention forcing in probably one of the worst Shonen villains in manga to hijack a more interesting character, and making Deku less interesting over time into a bland hero who we have no idea what his thought process is.
