Nintendo Switch (Currently Plagued) - Here we shit post about the new Nintendo console, The Switch

In 3D land, the power leaf pretty much replaced the Tanuki suit. The "invincibility leaf" is pretty much a stronger version of the Tanuki suit that makes you invincible for the entire level. However, the catch is you can only have access to the invincibility leaf if you failed a level too many times.

It's basically a pity item for players that can't git gud.
Its nintendo's version of the chicken hat or "easy mode is now selectable"

b-b-but think of all the fun you can make yourself by being able to make things go backwards, put garbage on your weapons, make vehicles out of garbage and clip through ceilings!!!

And the story! THINK OF THE ENTIRELY NEW ZELDA STORY!!!
Lmao sucks to be a Zelda fan. 6 years of waiting for a garbage compact simulator with the same recycled assets and horrible frame rate and pop in.

Should have invested in a graphics card and played games that actually run consistently.

My personal issues with BotW wouldn't have changed even if I were to emulate the game on my PC, but I sure do not recall the game being a technical mess on the Switch hardware like you try to portray it.

Likewise, I'm currently playing No More Heroes 3 (which I've rented the physical) and the recurrent pop culture references & cutscenes annoy me far more than the framedrops (specifically when roaming in town, battles run fine so far).

Switch games run better emulated. What's the downside? No big clunky "handheld" that makes you look like an autist in public?

I don't see how using a handheld system in public (to kill time) is any different from a smartphone though. Nobody actually gives a damn as long as you're not being obnoxious.
I do prefer playing on a handheld for being allowed to play short bursts of a game, with the instant pause/resume feature, while not worrying to save in time and such. The portability is nice even in my own home too.

I don't think I'll ever come back to the PC port of EDF 4.1 in my old Steam account because I find its Switch port to be a more enjoyable experience, even if the framerate is more inconsistent by comparison. The sole game I'm ever looking forward to play on PC is EDF6 while I get everything else (primarily japanese titles) on Switch these days.

what's the best option for an actual dpad in handheld mode?
If you don't want to use a 3rd party controller but are okay with modding it, get one of those joycon shell swaps that have dpads. It's still the 4 buttons underneath so it feels like a 3ds dpad, and you can push all buttons at once if you press in the middle, but its infinitely better than the stock joycon. You could probably use hot glue or something to add a nub underneath to sort of make it function like an actual dpad, but I didn't bother. The most annoying part is installing it because you have to fully disassemble the joycon and then reassemble it. I did it at the same time I was swapping out drifting sticks.

I ordered a kit of both joycons + switch back + kickstand, it has that soft plastic texture which I personally like, it eats up fingerprints but the grip doesnt wear off like stock joycons, and it doesn't get scratched by virtue of the plastic type. Just don't use the replacement buttons that come with them, they are cheap and dont have injection molded letters, instead its an indent that collects dirt and grime.

I can't find the bundle I bought since it was years ago, but this is the console shell:

Here is the joycons:

I think the bundle I got was cheaper then buying both individually though.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but you look like an autist with it. Its just too big. 3DS and Vita are bith fie though.

That definitely sounds like a projection of low self-esteem if you consider bringing a Switch, or any handheld for the matter, for long waits (like transit transports) is remotely an issue. Not to mention the main unit itself is about as big as the Playstation Vita and joycons can be separated.

If you look like a repugnant and smelly troll, there are far bigger issues at hand than using a Switch in public.

And to be fair, frame drops and glitches are more of a feature when it comes to Suda51 games.

Computers are gay and I don't have the time or patience to game on them let alone emulate shit. You know what happened when I tried to emulate a game? It had no thingymajiggy script C whatever the fuck and when I tried to look up what the fuck to do about it every guide was written under the assumption that the reader was a computer nerd. You PC fags might as well be running around telling everybody to build their own cars instead of buying them pre-built. You're just as greasy as the average auto mechanic anyway.

I buy a Nintendo knowing full well that I'm going to have games that don't run at 100+ FPS or have super mega gwaffix and guess what? I AM FINE WITH THAT. It's 1000% better than wasting my life on dealing with computers. Plus I usually like Nintendo games and Steam doesn't have them.

Don't care. And no, I'm not buying the fucking Steam Deck either. PC fags can fuck off with it already. It's doing an amazing job being the Switch Killer TM given that the Switch is on track to be the best selling console ever.

Why do people not look like autists using a big bulky tablet then?

It's just ingrained in gen x & millennials (as I assume you are like many here) to feel like gaming is embarrassing. Nobody bats an eye at an Apple device that's bigger than a Switch, maybe bigger than a Steam Deck, because it's not associated primarily with gaming,

I wonder how zoomers feel about it

Yeah, no shit, when someone has a Surface pad or whatever it looks like they are doing work, when someone has a tonka-toy looking red and blue switch it looks like he's playing a game and, conceivably, can't be bothered to hold his own attention during a train ride or social event. Doesn't help that the only people I see doing this are fatties, beardies, baldies, blatant weirdos, and 'tism girls (think wearing baggy nightgown shit and with terrible hair, possibly with poorly maintained Pokemon accessories.)

That's what my brain goes to when I see some 20-somethings using their tablets together at a coffee shop laughing, "those are businessmen!"

Now yeah, if you bust out the obnoxious colors, you do seem a bit ridiculous. But if I see someone using a black, white, or grey Switch I wouldn't even look twice. You basically have to be an asshole to even give a shit.

I'm a high level computer wizard and it's my expert opinion that computers are indeed gay.

I've stuck to PC gaming for a long time but I just got an OLED Switch last night and it's really nice. Switch emulation just isn't far enough along. Anyone claiming otherwise is full of shit.

im not a computer wizard at all and ive been able to emulate every switch exclusive ive ever been interested in at a higher internal resolution and often also with a mod for 60 FPS on a shitbox i threw together like five years ago
I heard they vary greatly. Metroid Dread runs perfect, but Pokemon Scarlet has a lot of issues. Probably depends on a lot of factors.
