Per ASM Volume 2 non ferrous metals -CDA260 “cartridge brass” is nominally 70/30 copper/zinc.

You are thinking of the lead bullets. Small amounts of antimony (up to 4%) is added to lead to increase hardness.

What's a cheap helmet recommendation that isn't airsoft plastic? Everything I look at is hundreds and hundreds when I'd just be fine with a surplus steel bucket because it's cool and good bump protection if nothing else

A PASGT sounds cool, it's very Cold War, what my Dad would have worn, the protection is basically what im asking for, and I'm seeing some for like 149.99. Thanks man!

I love my Jericho. I've dropped the motherfucker out of a jacket during a mid-speed motorcycle crash and the worst thing to happen was a scratch along the trigger guard. Was my first big-boy gun, got it many moons ago. It's (read:was before IMI went to IWI and gave up on quality because people would buy it for Bebop regardless) a sturdy fucking brick that doesn't do anything but put bullets out the front.

I also like mine. It's got a nice heft to it that most of the modern CZ-75s lack, owing to the steel frame, and I happen to think that the DA pull on mine is better than a stock SP-01 tactical at least, although decocker CZs are known to suffer in that department. SA is crisp, but takeup and reset are a bit long. Considering what they go for, damn good guns. Excellent, even.

It just sucks that the tranny brigade had to go and make it their signature pistol, along with the Beretta 92 (for some reason...?), which is also one of my favorites.

Autism makes it their favorite. But i won't lie and say that Bebop didn't influence my decision to pine all my childhood for a Jericho and make it the first one I bought at 18.


Edit:Also, for being giant combat pistols, they conceal incredibly well. I have a full size 90's frame mounted safety Jericho, you could never tell i was carrying it.
Smooth lines on the gun make it melt.

I'm not massive, just under 6 foot and less than 150, and never been caught printing wearing normal clothes.

Recently got a Walther PDP Compact. Man that trigger is something else. Out of the box hand down one of the smoothest/crispest striker fired 9 I've handled.

I picked one up at Sportsman Fulfillment for 499$ and it came with a free Ameriglo Haven. Walther is also running a free Haven rebate program if you send a receipt of a PDP. So I might double dip on that too.

Listened to that in the car- I'm on a road trip rn- it's really interesting how those Viking bastards not only discovered America but figured out guns, even as crude as they were.


On my own note, a bit of a discussion I've had in my head: 38 Special vs 9mm. Both fired from a 4 inch barrel are roughly equal, both have been chambered in semi autos and revolvers despite being suited for one type over the other, and at least with .38, it's proven to be quite good out of a 1.75-2 inch barrel as far as the FBI with its load is concerned. Both are still in use with police forces around the world despite being well over 100 years old, and yes, that includes revolvers, which continue to be a popular self defense option despite very good and affordable sub compact semi autos existing.

So with this argument in mind, which is better? Or are both strong in their own category despite slight advantages over the other in certain areas? I'm truly interested to hear the responses.

I saw someone reason that the finicky precision probably related to using existing projectiles made for certain twist rates, and then putting them through bores which had ones that didn't always match well. Never shot any, but sounds reasonable considering some people had good success with the stuff while a lot complained.

And now for something completely different... a Rhodesian Aérospatiale Alouette III, the "K-Car" variant; equipped with a 20mm MG 151 door-cannon. The South Africans used them as well, or had inherited the Rhodesian ones.

A lot of pistols copied the CZ75, but most don't look very good, the Tanfoglio pistols look hideous to me, for instance. The Jericho though I think looks very sleek, comparable sex appeal to a good old Pre-B CZ75. I really wanna try one out some day, because I love steel frames.

That'd be doable, but it's gonna take you some money and effort, probably a few thousand dollars.
You're either tracking down a rare long slide 92FS, or biting the bullet and having custom gunsmith work done. Nobody makes extended barrels or slides for the 92FS that I know of, so for the slide, you'd probably have to outright get a pair of them for a good smith to cut apart and weld together to the desired length, while for a barrel, the only choice I can think of is to plain have a completely new one made from a 9mm barrel blank (but you should be able to match the profile and use an existing locking block and pins).

I've known a few people who wanted to do it, but the cost and effort puts them off, and they settle for a 92FS Inox with pearl/replica grips, optionally the airsoft replica. I guess the airsoft one would be a useful reference if you wanted to go through with it and get it just right.
Then comes the question, are you gonna make it the complete pair of pistols?

For me capacity gives 9mm the wedge. 15 rounds in a carry gun is a game changer.
