Oh for fuck's sake.
No one can be advocating firearms bans at this day and age and expect to be taken seriously. We are a country that was forged in armed conflict. Firearms have literally been part of America since its foundation. And since they've been around for about 240 years here, it's a little late to try to cram a cork into that bottle, especially given that there's like 50 million of the fucking things in circulation here, and that's not counting the ones issued by the government.
Not only is banning themessentially impossible given this, but it essentially criminalizes the massive plurality of gun owners that haven't fucking done anything wrong, from the milsim crowd, to collectors, to hunters and the errant person using them for home protection, which means we're going to see a barrage of special-class exceptions, a grandfather clause (which would make the whole ban worthless), or flat-out forfeiture (good luck with this last one, by the way).
And that's not even considering the economic fuckstorm that would happen from it, as some of the West's biggest and brightest manufacturers (who, by coincidence, also supply the military and police, as well as the civilian sector) lose fucking billions and inevitably either sue or fuck off because apparently all gun manufacturers are 1980s-era Intratec and Bryco-Jennings in the eyes of these fucks (read: intentionally putting shitty guns or easily-modded ones in the hands of criminals at the time to turn a profit).
And then there's the fact that it would lead to even more guns arriving in the hands of criminals because it would establish them as black market materials, as well as strengthening organized crime in this country, because apparently no one learned what a fucking disaster the last time we tried something this absolutely fucking retarded was. And just to drive home how brain-shatteringly pointless this would be, it would die under a constitutional challenge.

In other news, the backer revolt seems to have been getting worse, spreading to Patreon as well, and though it isn't progressing as energetically as I would like, there is definitely a backlashing coming Brianna Wu's way at this rate. Dallas was probably the best thing that could have happened to her because it gives her some level of deflection, but that won't remain for long, especially if she fucks up.
