Culture The Bull Pit - Pitbull News Megathread - aka sperginity speds out agendaposting

https://www.cheknews.ca/pit-bull-attack-near-nanaimo-injures-two-children-and-one-woman-450395/

Two 8-month-old pit bulls that were loose in Nanaimo attacked several children, severely injuring at least one. Other people that came to aid the children were also injured.

The children were playing in a yard at the house of one of their friends. The dogs were from somewhere else in the neighborhood and had been cited for being at large previously.

One of the owners of the dogs came and got the dogs but did not stick around. The news interviewed the other owner, a Dangerhair that looked to be in her late 40s or early 50s. While she was devastated at what her dogs had done, she said to the reporter, "People are saying, look at this from the prospective of a parent, well, these dogs are my kids, too," and then she broke down crying.

It was later reported both dogs were euthanized, as there have been other incidents prior to this one, and due to the severity of the injuries the one particular child sustained.

To the dangerhair dog owner I would have to say, "If these dogs were your KIDS, you did a lousy job of raising them. Thank heavens you didn't spawn any of your own."

I'm glad this shitbull hate thread exists. I was not aware of its existence. I will enjoy my reading. Reading the last few pages and I had a thought, probably not original.

Would the shitbull situation be improved if the owners were held criminally liable and were prosecuted as if they themselves had committed the crimes their dindogs did?

Same, good to find this thread. A few months ago I had an incident with an APBT that was a bit of a wakeup call for me. So I started doing research and quickly went from believing the standard pitbull apologist lines to what I'd call a "pitbull realist".

t's really stupid that the staffordshire terrier was bred specifically for the 'sport' of bull baiting, and then when that was outlawed, our society is left to deal with the aftermath of an insanely powerful dog meant to kill bulls with an insatiable prey drive.

Still you should finish them quickly because these fuckers will literally continue attacking a bull after being disemboweled while dragging their intestines around (video somewhere on this thread). They're like zombies except sometimes even a headshot won't finish them.

Yeah, bull baiting is origin, and both apologists and Wikipedia will freely admit to that. But I also think it's a bit of the smoke screen. First of all, It causes people to mentally group American Pit Bull Terriers in with all bulldogs as "bred for the same thing". Furthermore, the fact that it was outlawed so long ago leaves people with the impression that they've been simply used as good family dogs ever since.

But the real pit bull redpill comes from looking into dog fighting. Has anyone covered that in this thread so far? How the sport came to America, how the ABPT was created, what the breeders selected for, and how it persists today throughout the country?

Understanding dog fighting explains everything. Why they attack like they do, why they never really showed up in shelters until a few decades ago, where the whole "lock jaw" myth actually came from, etc.

If no one has done it, I'm happy to write some of it up and post links to a lot of old magazines and interviews with breeders. There's tons of stuff on youtube if you know what to search for (no actual fights, but the breeders/kennels/training sessions).

This old lady almost lost her life to a neighbor's pit several years ago and she's very lucky to be alive. I can't imagine living through this kind of trauma. PL kinda but someone in my family is currently going to school to be a vet and I remind her all of the time about how much a severe cat bite and a shitbull encounter isn't worth it and to find a different career path lol. Doesn't seem to be working yet.
Holy shit, I don't even care if it's a nigglet, that kid deserves a medal for having the balls to try and help.

It has been mentioned but it does bear repeating. Pit Bull breeders in America selected for psychopathic traits in the puppies. In virtually all standard breeds a puppy that acts aggressively against a human on instinct is either killed or removed from the breeding program.

With American Pits the opposite was done. If they didn't act that way they were killed or removed from the program. Since psychopathy is not an evolutionary advantageous trait it was hard to breed into the dogs, and as consequence most modern Pitbulls trace their lineage back to around 5 champion fighting dogs from the 1940s and 1950s who were noted for their ruthlessness and absolute lack of self preservation instinct usually associated with Caniform predators.

Generic mix and the white bitches will love my quirky drool!
(Though in fairness this one does kind of look like a boxer/pit mix, but still too lazy to write it up. Unless its a super skinny pit)

That's not a muzzle. It's basically like a set of reigns on a horse and helps control them while walking. Plenty of non aggressive types can benefit from them. There is nothing actually holding the mouth shut.
But fuck shelters who lable their animals like this. I'm honestly surprised there isn't a push to make this a finable offense.

I could be wrong as a whole, but I have seen people use this to stop dogs from lunging which would including biting. It isn't used as a muzzle in the sense of an actual fullcage muzzle, but in a way that deters the dog from lunging and grabbing. Is it used to stop generic pulling? Yes.

Breed lies aside, do any of these shelter thots even know the proper names for dog colors?
I feel actually bad for Tennesse though. Most pitties I have a visual disdain for, but he just looks so sad. It's too bad there's the chance of him mauling anyone who would adopt him.

Part of the reason why shelters will never be fined for "accidentally" mislabeling a dog by breed is because shelters operate on very thin margins and most of the time only are able to make ends meet via donations and volunteers (at least every shelter I've ever lived by acts like this).

One of two fines by people who were mauled by one of their dogs that were labeled "mixed breed" could hypothetically shut down a shelter, which would then open up a whole new can of worms.

Shelters mislabel pits in order to get fools to adopt them. They know exactly what they're doing and they don't give a damn how many kids and elderly get attacked as long as the 'poor, sweet pibble' doesn't get euthanized.
