If you pull a cobra, or any of its other derivatives, in a combat situation you will die. This isn't ace combat, killing all of your airspeed only works to make you an easier target.

Pulling a cobra isn't a good measurement for how good a fighter jet's maneuverability is. You have to test how big the angle of attack compared to how much airspeed is lost, which cobra maneuver inherently kills airspeed really fast at 70+ degree angle. If one fighter can pull a 8 degree turn, losing about 300 km/h and another can pull 12 degree while losing the same or a bit more/less amount of airspeed, I consider the latter more maneuverable.
