Easy solution: don't be on camera constantly. Hide your face in your desk and pretend you like to draw.

Look, someone who has been getting invited to conventions and paid to sign autographs for many years before Comicsgate is just gonna be narcissistic. It's a chicken and the egg thing. You don’t understand narcissism if you think they can’t function.
If they are receiving appropriate amounts of attention, and are able to project a successful enough image to get the validation they need to stay stable, then they can thrive.
Many narcissists are CEOs or very successful businessmen because they crave control and power and have little qualms about stepping on others to get ahead. In fact, if someone threatens them, they will use any method to tear them down, because they don’t have the empathy to feel bad about it.
This doesn’t mean they won’t fake empathy/kindness though, because they know this is usually seen as an appealing quality which attracts others, leading to more attention, admiration, gratitude, loyalty, favours and even in some cases money or glory.

In my opinion, we would see Ethan start to crack if he couldn’t still claim to be the largest indy comic crowdfunder, (because technically Eric July didn’t crowdfund), or if he couldn’t claim responsibility for some of the other guys successes by either promoting them or doing variant covers that helped increase the revenue bought in.
He's gotta believe he's 'on top' and F anyone that criticises, calls out, rejects, or even worse, overshadows him.

I can barely stand any of them, but did those people really deserve the punishment they got? Being demonised and having their names smeared by someone with a fanatical audience?
Obviously most were pretty strange characters that were easy to demonise and laugh at due to their own behaviour, but many were his 'friends' before committing some ‘unforgivable' act, and it was only then that their colourful personalities became unacceptable.

I just read this whole thread this week, have nothing to do other than watching old movies, read old books and play games when i have some sudden free time. I found this thread highly interesting even more than dsp thread.
God help me, I have even watched evs-tim pool, evs-rippa, evs-nerdette interview.

@No Offense I cannot dissaggree with the way you put it. Again, not psychologist so I was thinking of narcissistic traits vs narcissistic disorder, but then again it has been some time since I last watched a liveshow of his and I have forgotten how much faggotry seems to orbit around him.
Definetely fits the narcissism of low tier semi-scammer CEO and it is probably the wife that wears the pants in the house and does a lot of the actual work behind the scenes.

No psychobabble really needed here. He manipulates, he fronts, he gayops if he has the cover, his bus is caked with the remains of old allies, and he just doesn't deliver on what he's supposed to specialize in. A 2-3 year wait for a single issue of a completely derivative Froggy Sue who requires constant explanation because nothing flows or makes sense in a character who is the MacGuffin of his own story. MacSciverfrog has also become the MacGuffin of Comicsgate, whose origin at this point has become about as important and consistent as the jagged impacted leftovers that hit the EVS porcelain throne last week.
