No official euthanization story, just that after Ollie died, Maggie was distraught and depressed. It's not unusual for a younger pet to basically pine away after the death of the older, more maternal/paternal pet. I'm not even sure whether or not Maggie was euthanized or whether she just died, I don't think FFG ever said.

FFG said Maggie died of a broken heart. It was heart wrenching for her just after Ollie. She was genuinely grief stricken.

Most veterinarians won't just up and euthanize a dog for anxiety, I've only heard of that happening for dogs that were quite literally harming themselves/jumping out of windows/chewing through drywall despite medical and behavioral intervention, which is fairly rare. I vaguely recall FFG mentioning Maggie having issues with vomiting etc a night or two before she had to be put down (I could be wrong though). It's insanely common for people to say their pet "died of a broken heart" when they pass shortly after another. It's also not uncommon for having the bad luck of losing multiple senior pets close together. Anxiety is complex in dogs and there are many treatment options vets will refer owners to before agreeing to euthanize them, especially in established patients. You can't just simply pack up and use a different vet because 99% are going to do an exam first (at least in US/Canada).

I find it hard to believe a dog she found wondering the streets just laid down and died of a broken heart. Especially since she'd talked about how the dog was so aggressive that she'd been kicked out of a park for the dog going after other park patrons and even going after the officer who was asking them to leave. The dog wasn't biting, but barking and challenging them and FFG told the story as a funny tale about how proud she was of that dog's spunk. I also find it strange that a vet would advise putting down a healthy middle aged dog that was just grieving a recently lost housemate. It seems like Maggie was put down w/in 30 days of Oliver's death. And, not even a month later FFG had another puppy as well. That puppy would have provided company for Maggie.

Anyway, the reason I was thinking about this is because she is now back into another Ollie situation where she has a senior cat that she's going to keep going on meds and what ever else is needed since they'll superchat 10x the cost to her for the entertainment of her audience. At this point, she either keeps the cat alive for the audience or does exactly what she was accusing Chins of doing and puts the cat down for age issues. BBJ is Ollie v2.0.

FFG addressed Maggie's death briefly, shortly after she got BBJ. She said she would never tell the story in full because of how people weaponize Ollie's death, but that it was sudden and traumatic. I'm paraphrasing and can't remember details, but it sounded like a medical emergency that resulted in death or necessitated immediate euthanasia. I tried going through Filmot to find the stream but no dice. 15 is a wonderful old age for a pittie. I'm not sure where Chantal got the story she tells, but it's not true.

Knew of a perfectly healthy 8 yr old Springer Spaniel that couldn’t handle the loss of her owner six months previously. Her new Mom found her having fits one morning and despite veterinary intervention she was dead by that afternoon. I’ve never told that story (PL etc etc) but immediately FFG said Maggie had gone I understood it was probably something similar. Sometimes the bond between animals / humans is too strong to break and grief really can kill. I wish Chantal would leave the dogs out of it, it turns a slapfight I want to watch into something so distasteful and icky and ‘serious’. I want to laugh at cows on the internet, not rehash my own or other peoples trauma.

I made it through three quarters of this before my blood pressure forced me to quit. This video should have been titled:

Both these videos actually make some decent points, but both suffer from being unscripted and hedging points with unnecessary personal stories. These two women are more alike than they think they are. Or at least, than Sovereign thinks they are.

Editing to add that she makes the common mistake of imposing a very American style of political thinking upon a British person. Exactly. I tried to get into the ATX shit and just couldn't do it. There isn't anything interesting or strange or funny about that whole drama. At least with Callie or DC or Chins, or even "Where is Ang", they do funny shit we can laugh at. The ATX thing is just from old drama beefs and the only ones who care are the ones who deal with them first hand. No one else cares.
