The interesting thing I found out when I asked to drive my friend car when I was younger, was that he wouldn't let me because his insurance didn't cover under 25's. I looked up the stats and both Men and Women have significantly higher rates of car crashes before 25. Then I saw the study that came out saying the brain isn't fully developed until 25.

The reason why men still outnumber women on the road is likely largely due to longhaul truck drivers who are easily >80% male. But it's not the big rigs involved in these car crash stats or hitting pedestrians. If you just take into consideration regular vehicle traffic the demographics are much more on par.

But even taking into account that men drive more, that still doesn't explain stats like why men's crashes are far deadlier - that's a direct head-on comparison of the crashes that do happen rather than a comparison of the total number. I have wondered this myself re the guns. At the very least, they knew she was troubled. She was reportedly under some sort of mental health care or counseling, she was known to have had at least one weapon at some point, and she was barred from practicing gender fiction inside their house. So not exactly the picture of stability. Even being a live-in 28 year old, you would think someone would still be checking her writings or looking under her bed occasionally.
