And then everybody clapped.

Seriously, it reads like that. Op seriously wrote the "Caryn" character like a christian-zealot mustache twirling villian.

I think it was the stdh.txt thread many years ago on SA that it was determined that a "....needless to say" line is in virtually every piece of stdh, even more than the everyone clapped, it's in there.

Back in 2015 you could be mildy critical of transwomen in womens sports on Reddit on a popular sub and get actual upvotes, instead of your comment being deleted, you being banned from the site, and the sub being banned for not deleting you.
They're even starting to push back on the idea that men and women are built differently at all in the Reddit zeitgeist. I remember seeing a thread once where some guy was getting grilled for pointing out just how wide the discrepancy is (bringing up the classics like the Williams sisters story or that time a group of 15 year old boys 7-0'd the Australian women's Olympic football team) and suggesting (correctly) that even professionally-trained women would struggle against the average man or even some of the more spry basement-dwellers in a physical contest. The seething was something to behold. Nowadays it seems like pointing out an obvious physical fact like "men are built different than women" makes you persona non grata over there.

went looking for it and saw right after that: "everyone was giggling at her theatrics"
Alright, it's got both everyone expressing approval and a "needless to say" line.
To top it off: r/MaliciousCompliance
Yeah, it's safe to write this one off

We need to make a Shit That Didnt happen bingo card if that didnt already happen
And then somebody replied with a bingo card, and everybody gave me and that guy winner reacts

EDIT: Thanks for the gold, kind stranger!

The US men's soccer team is routinely bad. The under 17 is the worse of the worse because if they are any good, they are either in college or in the Euro leagues.

Like they are slightly better that a rec league team in a major city.

They routinely obliterate the US women's national team. Best in the world. They stopped doing scrimmages the year the women tried to sue for more money.

I remembered r/Popheads used to be quite the hypocritical and bitchy subreddit a few years ago. Users would make many comments taking jabs at a singer's personal life or the controversy surrounding them. There was also off-topic jokes that would get tons of upvotes but had nothing to do with the topic at hand (i.e - several years ago, they kept on beating the dead horse that was Scarjo's anime movie casting, but I believe they hypocritically supported live-action Ariel being nigger because the actress is a pop star).

I know a few users used to have disdain for the rest of Reddit being male-centric because they're quite the female/alphabet community place. But now it seems like the mods are doubling down on removing anything that's "off-topic".

2015 Reddit was such a weirdly different place compared to now. Granted, there was still many of the same issues and Reddit has always been a dumpster fire, but it was never a "crime", at least in certain subreddits to point out that transwomen are not women and vice versa. Then the 2020 purged happened as we all know and subreddits like r/Itsafetish and r/LGBdropthet were banned. Leaving Reddit to be troon central.

A mediocre male swimmer ranked 462 in those college rankings (William "Lia" Thomas) was able to crush female Olympians. Fallon Fox, a short man with mediocre fighting skills was able to crack the skull of a female opponent. I don't care much about sports myself, but I'm sure we'll never see a trans-identified male crush every other woman at gymnastics or figure skating because those are sports where being small/light and so on are extremely beneficial.

You'd probably never see this actually posted with many upvotes on current Reddit though.

Reddit talks about the word "snigger"

Heh.. snigger.
It’s used frequently in their formerly favorite book series Harry Potter of course most of them probably never actually read the books, but still.

On another note: Reddit spends years calling for the arrest and public humiliation of their political enemy

This is the reason I can't stand sifting through reddit anymore: it's so blatant how much this shit gets twisted to fit an agenda, and redditors are the living embodiment of the Dunning-Kruger effect.

The 1st one is clearly a staged photo (I'm sure she just so happened to be wearing that shirt, and a reporter just so happened to get the moment she was arrested). The 2nd one is obviously taken out of context, and it's clear this boomer was saying getting shot in general isn't great.

But redditors are retarded, so "my side good, your side bad".

What’s that you want another example of twisting the truth?

They posted the picture of the daughter by reposting the article showing that she is involved in the Biden Harris campaign and clearly represents a conflict of interest. Remember how Reddit screeched for months because the wife of one of the Supreme Court justices thought the election was stolen?
Here’s the article they reposted

They are so butthurt about it too
