Seeing as we have a thread on MatPat and Game Theory now, I think it's fitting we have a thread for all of the other YouTube channels who have managed to overstay their welcome despite having large amounts of subscribers or even being verified. These channels often know they're dying and will do anything to keep their cash flow coming in. The signs of this become obvious, from adding new and often hardly related "shows" to your channel:
To making awkward attempts at crossing over into "traditional" media, often with at best poorly received results:
Despite all this, these cows rarely let their milk slip to the public. This is not because none is being produced, but because they can afford PR people to clean their messes. Sometimes though, that doesn't work out as planned, and they'll send out a passive aggressive message or two before their handlers can stop them. One famous example was Ian from Smosh (with 22 million subscribers) leaving this response to a negative review of his film:
You hardly need me to explain this life cycle though. Here's Mr. Shane Dawson, one of the biggest sell-outs on this site, singing a song that seems to be projecting more than a little bit;
