Well, most Tumblr people in general feel that they're powerless and have been feeling that way since high school (or middle school [junior high]). What better way to feel like you have control over someone or something than by complaining when their favorite TV show/movie/comic book/whatever gets something wrong that normal people wouldn't notice or care about?

Pray tell, what the fuck DO you want? Because at this point nobody has a damn clue. Nothing will ever make you people happy, nothing will be good enough. Finding ways to take offence is a pass-time for you, so don't blog about how a game like Mass Effect wasn't good enough... it was damn near perfect but you still managed to find the needles in the haystack.
Telling people what you don't want all the time achieves precisely jack shit. Start offering solutions instead of problems and we'll talk, but until that day I don't give a damn how offended you get about some single line of dialogue in 300 hours of role playing.

It's not that simple. These people don't want media to be changed so that they want to consume it, they want there to be no media that they wouldn't consume. "Problematic" media isn't allowed to exist, and if you like any media that hits more than a few "Problematic" points, you're just a bigoted shitlord. Let the overlords control what gets made for you and what you can consume. They know best.

Oh it's there. They just ignore it/keep it under wraps until the new GTA or whatever comes out.
Kinda off-topic, kinda related but I once had a conversation w/ someone over text who was (and is) and huge tumblrite, back when GTA5 was coming out and she was saying that the cover looked problematic or that it was sexist that you couldn't play as a woman or that all the important females were hookers or the main characters' wives or something like that. I countered that it's GTA, what kind of moral outlook or progressiveness are you expecting from a series about driving, crime, and hookers? She said something along the lines of how nothing should be an exception, blah blah blah, everything should have a strong woman in it, etc. I brought up all the games and series that have prominently portrayed "strong women" as player characters, or in supporting roles, and she just said "that's not enough, we need to do better" :/

I'm not actually sure where to put this, but there's been some drama over a (highly NSFW) game project called Breeding Season that involved a good number of fairly well known 4chan artfags working on it. I wasn't planning on making a write up of this since it doesn't look like this'll be ongoing and going drama, so I'm putting it here because I found out about the whole thing from Tumblr.
Small summary of the game is just, it's Monster Rancher only you can fuck the monsters or make the monsters fuck. It had a gigantic Patreon (that is now defunct) so it's fairly high profile. That Kotaku article has a better summary of events than I care to really write out.
Most of this started when the lead animator/artist/PR quit because of the actual art director, S/Shwig disappeared and forced all of his work onto her with no warning.
This was followed by what basically amounts to a call out post by Shwig's partner being posted explaining everything that's happening and what Shwig ran away with the money for.
Shwig's apparently still writing his rebuttal but had the time to pimp out the new project he disappeared for.
It looks like neither of the heads behind the game have an idea on how to handle this professionally at all, and that's hilarious.

I remember hearing about Breeding Season from different animators. Didn't it make a ridiculous assload of money every month but every update just made it more and more convoluted? I'd feel bad for people who sunk their money into it, but, y'know. Furries.
