"Current year" terms that piss you off

I saw way too many people asking if recent announcements were “gaslighting” or “misinformation”. On April Fools day. It’s like the concept of a joke doesn’t exist anymore, there has to be some modern phrase attached to it.
Tbf, April Fool's is overplayed to the point it's completely unfunny. I can't blame people for not getting a joke when said joke is entirely devoid of humor.

April fools day - the only time many review an article with some critical analysis and scepticism.

On a similar note the absolute overuse of gaslighting to basically mean "they have a different perspective to me and expressed it".

I'm adding "vibrant". Originally a description of nigger-adjacent concepts, now used to describe a fucking radio lmao

The idea of "neurodiversity" seems to be rather Current Year.

"Neurodiversity" is the woke-ish idea that autism and other mental illnesses are just "different ways of thinking", rather than potentially life-ruining disabilities that should be prevented and cured. A number of autistics even consider their 'tisms as integral parts of their personalities and do not want to lose them, which I do not get.

Any article with two sentences in the title, one or both of which begin with the words "This", "Here's", or "Now" are guaranteed to be garbage.
Those Current Year BS "persuasive tone" articles use that.

'Toxic people' used in reference to anyone who criticizes you. Nine times out of ten, there are no 'toxic people' to cut out of your life. You're just being an obnoxious, navel-gazing, inconsiderate shit. Instead of taking responsibility for being such a cunt, you've decided that everyone who has an issue with your behavior is 'toxic', and that if you cut them out you'll feel so much better. That is, until you fall in with a new group of people, and, surprise surprise, they all end up thinking that you're an asshole too. Wow, these toxic people really are everywhere.

"Living my truth / my true self"

I constantly seeing this used by spergs and trannies as a justification to continue being degenerate weirdos. Fuck off. If your true self is an adult diaper lover, you need to suppress that shit.
"Just be yourself" they say. But suppose you're a complete asshole. Then just be somebody else, somebody who ISN'T a complete asshole!

On the one hand, the modern world can overvalue conformity to the point where it seems all "normies" are too bland and too alike.

On the other hand, there's being so nonconformist it's freakshow freakish: such as with "Chris Chan", daiperfurs, and zoosadists.
