What if Pokemon Go came out about 10 years earlier, before Chris had completed his devolution into the lazy blob he is now? He might have had a chance. All that running around, he might have turned out healthier and more fit. Also, its(marginally) less likely he would have been banned from so many places for loitering and soliciting since he'd be on the move. He might have not even found that piece-a-shit ED page back in Halloween 2008 since his attention would be fixated on the world around him and the cartoon characters he saw inhabiting it that, magically, his phone could see now too.

Given how clingy his parents were, they'd probably pull him out around Christmas break. As for how well he does in classes, that really depends on how willing the Dumbledore and other professors are to help and understand Chris while he's there. Snape and Filch would probably get in trouble on occasion for making the little sperg cry.
