People validating and catering to your demands is a privilege which can be revoked at any time, for any reason.

It can also just be the most effective insult to someone who so highly values external validation. It is funny to aee someone have a meltdown over objective reality, can you imagine seeing someone have a meltdown over being called a human?

The goth thing: being a goth is not defined by music taste. Just because you have cross over between those who have gothic fashion tastes and those who listen to metal, does not make goth a music-classification. Pastel and cyber goth are a thing.

If you google "goth bands" and look at their wiki, their main genres are almost always rock and punk rock, "goth rock" is either not listed or is it at the bottom of the list since it is incredibly niche since it is a subgenre of a subgenre
And seeing as gothic architecture predates the band he tried to use as a test to gatekeep an entire genre i declare him a poser just cuz i said so
