Man, without Bob there to do the yard work their property has gone to shit. They might get in trouble if they're part of a homeowner's association.

Bob didn't do anything about the yard for at least the latter ten years of his life, let alone anything inside the house. I'm sure if an HOA was in place, the first thing they would be anal about is that "Private Property" sign on the chair. It's pretty much the only power they would have for a house that should be condemned.

What's the small red box for? It looks like a fucking sharps container at a doctor's office.

Looking at how decent that house looks these days, I feel that the fire was one of the best things to ever happen to Chris.

I would not be surprised if a church or neighborhood group got together on a regular basis to trim the Chandler yard and cut the lawn. Sometimes people are actually good at heart, even if it means they end up helping some really awful people.

However, the more likely scenario is that the good people of the neighborhood were sick of the steadily decreasing area property values because of that dangerous wreck on 14 Branchland Ct, and now they have to draw straws every week to go clean up whatever mess Chris and Borb have left outside this time.
Chris probably thinks of them as his personal slaves.

It would suck to be there if that was your turn, stuck mowing your town's own Grey Gardens.

I like how their mailbox is covered in random swatches of duct tape and is being held up by pieces of scrap lumber haphazardly angled against the rotting base of the post.

Odd, in the third photo there is a "info box" below the newspaper box. Those are usually only posted at houses for sale. They put little fliers with all the listing information. There's no indication there house is actually for sale so maybe it's something else. It looks like junk mail/circulars are in it.

I've always considered HOAs as the New Nazi Party, being of the opinion that one's home is their property and they can do what they want with it. Lazy-ass trashy people like the Chandlers make me want to reconsider my views. If I were their neighbor I would be disgusted and probably look for a new place to live.
