While I agree and my moral compass says "I really hope these clowns don't get any air time or more attention", it would also be absolutely hilarious to see the histrionics and listen to the blatant lies any of them will tell on the news. Especially if Lacey decides to ramble on about her conspiracy theories or "Our sweet, innocent, pure Chelsea has gone to bask in the glory of the angels." I am so conflicted.

Some of these things are as simple as a form being mailed in. Someone who wasn’t stable might find or grab said form and just send it themselves.

It’ll be found eventually of course, but it might work.

Not saying it’s what happened here, however.

Sadly, the modern health care system considers pain and other symptoms to be subjective, so what the patient reports is what we treat. Hospitals are terrified of being accused of negligence for undertreating pain. It's retarded, and half my night is answering calls from nurses asking me to order extra doses of Dilaudid/Phenergan/Benadryl so some junkie can get high between their regularly scheduled doses.

I know a guy who does the best Dilaudid joke ever. When the patient goes, "Yeah, the only thing for me is this drug and it starts with a D," he goes, "Oh, I know the one!" and yells, "D-acetaminophen!" while sprinting back to the computer.

Also, I wouldn't be surprised if Lacey cops pills from the streets and helped Chelsea out. A little pressed Fentanyl isn't that hard to get. If you don't get it from the candyman inside the hospital, every hospital I know has a dope man standing by outside.

I was completely refusing to believe she was dead until the online death record appeared.
The death record online is the only factor that points to her actually being dead than not, but every single other thing points in the other direction, to a byuucide.
It's all just too fantastical and I'm absolutely loving it.

You also brought up a very good point, surely they would be posting about the funeral plans by now? If the family has been denied an autopsy then why wait?

The chatgpt obituary, the weird sites reporting the death, the sudden follower spike, it's all too weird.

This might be my autism, but it's like how munchies get a diagnosis. They go through a dozen doctors until *one* gives them the diagnosis they want. To me, the death report is that one doctor. The rest of the evidence is the other doctors.

You don't need a body for a memorial service, they could do one tomorrow if they wanted to. Also why would it take a MONTH to get an autopsy done?

If Chelsea’s mom and sister are planning a funeral in which Chelsea’s body will actually be present, open casket, that is generally done within a few weeks at most. The why is very simple — until the service, Chelsea’s body will need to be frozen and then thawed enough to be dressed and placed in the casket. While funeral homes do try to accommodate families, most aren’t willing to store a body in their freezer indefinitely, since they have limited storage space and a body sitting there for weeks or months on end takes up room for another body. Sometimes, family members will be charged storage fees — I want to say there’s a case in the UK that the family has paid storage fees on their mom’s body for something like ten years, and they visit her every now and again but don’t seem inclined to finally bury her.

Cremation can take a while; up to a month, possibly longer, both due to covid protocols and a labor shortage in the death industry. I can’t speak about autopsy, but my instinct says it probably needs to be done while the body is still fresh to avoid damage that occurs in the embalming process. What I can say is that funerals, especially the splashy kind that Chelsea would want, are very expensive, and if Chelsea is indeed dead and her mother doesn’t have $10k or more just laying around, there should be a funding drive pretty soon.
