RIP Nykysnottrans, but let's be honest this thread was gonna die sooner or later due to Nyk/Contra/whatever simply not making videos outside of Patreon anymore.

I honestly feel like the whole ContraPoints channel is just very emblematic of a very certain time and place, but at the same time I feel like that would be giving him too much credit. Media outlets and fans insist that he's a serious political commentator but in the seven years since his first video as ContraPoints (back in 2016) he has said nothing about rising global inflation, rising global hunger, the civil wars in the Middle East and the resulting migrant crisis, the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan, the rising tensions between NATO and Russia culminating in the Ukraine war, the rising tensions between the US and China that will culminate in God knows what, the slow but certain transformation of our world from a post-Cold War unipolar world headed by the US to a multipolar world...

All in all his content was always very ivory tower, detached from reality, and narcissistic. Which is not unusual at all for a YouTuber but very unusual for one that's hailed as a political commentator. You can get better perspectives on global politics from literally anyone else!

His content was only ever about the dumb shit that western progressives care about, not really more serious concerns about the world at large. He was praised by media outlets due to said groups needing something to wield against anti-SJW youtube at the time. That's why his style of content became irrelevant so quickly; not that current progressive content creators are outside of the ivory tower yet, as their very existence depends on them remaining inside there.

Clearly Nykisnottrans was Nick Parrott himself. The real and self-aware part of him behind the empty internet nymph, the sensitive boy still screaming for purchase in the ruins of the myth he himself created.

But no one else would keep the receipts. Shockingly, everyone was willing to forget the boy, buy the lie. Was it really so easy? Who are these people, these fans, this community? Natalie has the reins now. But Nick, Nyk, Will, William, Nicholas, he was not yet dead. He could claw back from the dark mother's shadow. Some might call it self sabotage, even "digital self harm." No, Nick Parrott created the Nykisnottrans kiwifarms account to keep the truth and in turn himself alive. To preserve the accountability that his out of control persona could not allow.

And then he starts getting some actual pussy and all of a sudden the inner turmoil just isn't so tumultuous any more. No need to tear at your own mask from a pseudonym on the kiwi farms when a real woman is beside you in bed listening to your issues in person. Funny that.

(Either that or our favourite ContraPoster just got locked out of his account then sperged so hard at @Null that he got himself banned. Lmao right? I was honestly shocked that this is the best MTFs could put forward, I thought Contra was better than this. His entire interview gave off strong "you're lucky I'm even here bitch" covert narcissist vibes, but here's more notes:

- His voice is real annoying and I worry for his inevitable future as a podcaster. Tranny voice is worse than flaming cheeto gay voice, there's a performative aspect to it that's just awful.
- He first gets really pressed when Megan brings up the concerns about rushed trans healthcare. He tries to dismiss those concerns with, basically, "but that didn't happen to me! It took me TOO LONG". As if that's any part of the point Rowling is currently making or the current trends in where trans "healthcare" is going. Weak.
- Describes Joanne's concern about trans authoritarianism as "whiny and melodramatic". This is cute because describing a woman that way with 100% seriousness is VERY 2010 problematic. He implies that institutional power is MANDATORY for someone to be authoritarian, as if social structures can't create authority positions naturally that can wield heavy social consequences. This is why Twitter trannies doxing elderly lesbians and getting them fired isn't actually authoritarianism because trannies are losers. So they can't represent authority, even when they're making bank off delivering mandatory DEI training to Karens or telling Joanne they're going to rape her.
- He completely evades Megan's challenge re: how open dialogue actually helped her overcome the WBC's bigotry by stating that tranny acceptance is coming no matter what, so people will just get over it. This completely sidesteps a very predictable contra-contra-point, which is that open dialogue might not convince people that trans acceptance is actually the way to go. Megan is very nice and doesn't bring that up though. Contra thinks everything will be fine somehow in 20 years, but that's 10 years after long-term longitudinal data will come out on outcomes for transitioners... Risky bet to make there.
- Contra whines about how hard it is for trannies to talk to non-trannies about their needs because it's soooo much ~*emotional labour*~ (keep in mind these guys want to be treated like women lmao) so nobody should expect ANY trannies to do it, it's so exhausstinggggg.

Megan is polite and appreciative for the interview and Contra basically goes "I know, you're so lucky anyone even showed up" and then cries because he just cares. so. much. about trans stuff. The audio of him crying is interesting because it sounds like his face is pretty frozen, if that makes sense. It sounds like he's Botox crying. Hard to describe. It's a frustration cry. He knew he didn't get the upper hand he wanted in this one. Didn't land any zingers and Megan is excellently non-confrontational in approach, so he couldn't ramp up on her and can't frame her as an asshole afterwards. It sucks to be recorded crying and it's slightly shady of her to include it but it does make him seem more sympathetic, so 50/50 wash.

Transition outcomes are much better (except for SRS) for people who never go through full male/female puberty. So we must halt puberty for every gay guy and fat girl to maximize their chances of passing if they persist as GNC. Tragically, this policy would still not stop puberty for high-T, happily male AGPs.

Anyone following The Witch Trials of J.K. Rowling? It's Megan Phelps-Roper (of Westboro Baptist Church fame, who later left the church and renounced her past views) interviewing people, including Rowling herself, about all the controversy about troonery. It's very good, very balanced, I'd recommend it for normies.

Anyway, in the most recent episode, it's entirely just 50/50 an interview with Nik and then an interview with a random teenaged tif.

Nik is pretty annoying and disingenuous about the issues. It's pretty annoying to listen to. The best thing I can say about his part is that I think that he comes off as pretty unreasonable in the context of all the very careful and thoughtful points that Rowling and other critics made in earlier episodes. I think even normies listening to it will think that Nik's just being a whiny bitch. But of course, I'm biased.

The main thing that salvaged it was that at the end, he blubbers a bit and cries out some crocodile tears about how he is sad about Rowling saying sex is real. That was pretty funny.

I don't watch Secular Talk but he did a video about this. One funny thing he pointed out at the start of the video is how Contra deletes everything, like that tweet about gender dysphoria.

I guess this shouldn't be surprising, but for all his claims that he's grown out of his cringe fedora phase Nyk really hasn't changed all that much. His entire worldview is still almost singularly driven by pathological self-loathing anti-white bigotry.

The idea that the U.S. war on terror was a war for Evangelicals or even just a war for oil is pure libtard fiction and its annoying to see him repeat the same old narratives about it even though we now have about 20 years worth of hindsight behind us. If you can't talk about the war on terror without at least mentioning the Zionist elephant in the room then honestly your opinions simply can't be trusted. The invasion of Iraq for instance was not the result of some conservative Evangelical fever dream, it was cooked up in the Office of Special Plans by guys like Douglas Feith and Paul Wolfowitz who are... ahem... not Christians, to say the least. Evangelicals were just a patsy (albeit a willful one) that the Bush administration used to manufacture the American public's consent for the war. The actual brains behind it were all coming from Israel:

Now I'm not entirely against Nyk on this issue, as Evangelicals actually are batshit crazy. There really are millions of people in America who genuinely believe that gay marriage causes hurricanes and the Earth was created in 7 literal days, for example. So I get it, and I do get annoyed with some modern day conservative types who seem to have developed complete amnesia over how reddit-tier atheism didn't just come out of nowhere but was a genuine reaction to how insane and pervasive Evangelicals were culturally at the time. Anyone remember that one episode of Trading Spouses with the crazy Christian lady?

The worst part to me is the smug pretense Nyk takes when he laughs at creationists as if he is somehow intellectually superior to them when he made a whole video denying divergent evolution in humans, prompting AlternativeHypothesis to make a response:

It's weird that I'm saying this but Contrapoints seems liberal and sane compared to the current crop of breadtubers/progressive. Aside from the trans lunacy, I doubt he's ever given a take you wouldn't hear from the likes of Sam Seder of Kyle Kulinski.

Obviously, you'd have to wade through 2/3rds of these long ass fucking videos where he's an unrepentant autogynophiliac playing dress up to wring out the politically liberal commentary like a damp washcloth which I don't recommend but it's there.
