I'm a huge fan of mixing genres (and cross-genre covers & mashups), and though I'm not either a metal or a kawaii fan in particular, I appreciate the juxtaposition of the two. And I'd say I feel like a boomer [I'm not] for asking, but I'm 99% sure my young adult children don't even know of this, either, so I'm going to add another thing to the "wtf does Dorothy's Friend know so much about current* [weird] culture" bucket.

lol, the delusion here. haven’t they been saying for years “if you don’t like __ then make your own __”? if there’s anything good to come out of these brand deals it’s that people will get sick of these corporations and start a better business. part of me wishes these brands keep pushing people so the free market can do its thing.
