Non-binary people are valid too, and should have easier access to hormones.

I think people deep down most people realize trannies are super fucked up, but at the end of the day they just try to be tolerant and nice to other people. Maybe they advocate for troon "rights" because they feel bad for these freaks. Someone of the age of majority (18 in many places) doing what they want with their bodies is fine. Don't care. Have yourself inked from head to toe in solid black ink. Can someone explain to me the mental gymnastics KF users have to go through to provide characteristics that overlap with troons and actual transsexuals? I cannot quite understand what the gripe against the latter is - but they are seemingly included in shit like this.

People have told me that crossdressing is trans, that being gay is indicative of being trans, that you're not trans unless you take hormones, that you have to get the surgery, or that you just have to declare you are trans to be trans. Some have said that you can be trans even if you don't want to believe you are trans, as if you can't choose to be a man/woman, and your "trans identity" is inherent from birth. And of course we also have the tried and true "spectrum" narrative, which makes about as much sense as a drywall cupcake.

Not being trans unless you transition is the only sane thing there - transmedicalist transsexuals are the only people you can discuss anything with because at least they're not retarded enough to believe that the agp male wearing a dress and cooming all over the wall is a tranny.

Gender identity disorder or gender dysphoria was introduced in the dsm-3 in 1980. It is been a documented mental disorder for 40 years now.

Blanchard, the doctor that made the tranny typology of HSTS and AGP, was in the working groups of the paraphilia sections of the DSM-IV and DSM-V, and had a very big influence on the DSM-III. He and other proponents of his typology not even once claimed that transsexualism or later gender dysphoria can be treated by anything else than transitioning (with some exceptions - le agp male can get therapy early). Claiming that it can be is straight up incorrect and ignores decades of their research, You are misusing the work of some pretty based people to promote your delusions.

I think the main issue of the porn industry and pedophilia associated with them. A lot of trannies are mentally unhappy men and are enraptured by the concept of femininity so they attempt to fill this void in their lives by becoming women as a means of compensating for any actual achievement in their existence. If people just felt more comfortable being their own sex or if their was an encouragement for people to find a healthy binary spectrum where people can be as masculine and feminine as they want without the need for dangerous surgery I think we could rectify so much of the problems that plague the community as a whole.

The one thing I won’t be changed on is the belief that they specifically came into existence in the 20th century is a little ridiculous to believe, yes the movement had certainly been pushed with the sexual revolution of the 60s but I still find @Marvin’s belief it began at the beginning and there were no trans people on all of history till then just honestly more than a little ridiculous. Think back for example days of Ancient Rome and the medieval or renaissance period, there were tonnes of hedonistic gay and probably perverted men and women who Indulged in the idea of being the other sex or experienced feelings of gender or body dysphoria, they simply never dared tell or act upon it through fear of ridicule and being exiled from society. If such concepts of shame were brought back then maybe we wouldn’t have this in excess.

This. Most people are good people who just want to mind their own business and don’t want to go out of their way to harm others. If that means smiling and calling the man in the dress with she/her pronouns to avoid disturbing peace, most people, even the most frothing of conservatives, will do it.

Being in mental health services for as long as I have, one thing you got to learn is the fine line between being empathetic and knowing when to say “enough is enough” and speak up about the person’s actions. The only time I’m not allowed to do so, however, is when it comes to trans people. Many of my clients are, and have been, transgender youth. It’s so draining at this point because you start to realize that the mutilation of their bodies is just a capitalist push marked as progressivism to generate more money for our bloated pharmaceutical industry. It makes me so angry that I have to “validate” these mentally unhealthy people into further destroying themselves so that some Dark Triads up top can rake in easy cash. It’s sick.

Don't know what you're trying to say. I was talking about how for forty years gender dysphoria was a codified mental illness. Now it's not. Did a double check of the post you quoted and I didn't see mention of anything about a cure. Just whether or not I thought it was a mental illness.

Get off the cross we need the wood, I hardly doubt that most people honestly care that much, believe it or not but the vasyt majority of normal I imagine don't give a flying fuck about trans people in general. Believe it or not people have more on their plate then caring about diversity and LGBTQ representation, most people are more concerned about keeping themselves and their family and friends safe, or having enough food on the table. I can absolutely assure you there were in some capacity, Mentally ill people have existed in all sorts throughout history, people genuinely believed the earth was flat for so much of history and believed in fucked up cures for medicine like drinking useless combinations of animal testicles and believing cleaning their clothes in urine was actually a good idea. Considering the types of times we’ve been through before the scientific revolution and people believed in mysticism and borderline magical explanations for things, Is larping as the other sex, really too out of the question?
