The writing was her mood journal. It's just going to be random blurbs she felt like writing down, maybe some sketches, some fanfic she was working on. She was in the middle of a major mental health episode, so it's probably pretty disjointed. They've also got her devices, external storage, etc. If there was incitement/conspiracy that's where the evidence will be. They'll have to get all of her online information (search history, account contents, messages, telephone meta data). If others were involved, they'll need to get a warrant for all their information and archive it. Releasing the journal could spook other people into destroying evidence. We've been promised the writing. I think we'll get the unedited writing because I don't think any worthwhile evidence is in it.

Say it might inspire other shooters to act with the precedent of William Whitworth being accused of a possible copycat (in my opinion, with the premeditation in shooting multiple schools and the fact the cringey little shit was able to write an entire manifesto in less than two days only to get caught), or perhaps to gather sympathies in the release of the manifesto. Despite Audrey getting way more support for her actions, that honestly puts Brendon Tarrant to shame.
2. Yeah, they're redacting the shit out of it either for the reason above or they think it'll inspire revenge killings. If the organizers of "Trans Day of Vengeance" are to be believed with the "getting hate across the world," which, if true, could be quite a pants-shitting terrifying realization for many in Alphabet Soup agencies because then resources might be further extended on possible lone wolves who might "fuck your optics" and go to a parade.
3. You're right, they might rewrite the fucking thing, and we'll slowly find out if it's bullshit. Call me a conspiracy chud, I think the reason the FBI doesn't want to release it is that it goes against the narrative. The American state is clearly very pro trans and doesn't want them to look bad.

This is a common thing, it is similar to the women who have rape fantasies. What it is, is that these women want to be submissive but don't want to admit that because nowadays being a woman who just loves a men or even a man is seen as wrong.
