Nintendo Switch (Currently Plagued) - Here we shit post about the new Nintendo console, The Switch

Makes sense, considering Advance Wars 1 and 2 on GBA were also Western Exclusives for awhile.

Though that just makes me wonder what the fuck is going on, considering that the Nintendo Wars series up to that point had been Japan-exclusive and then the GBA ones are western-exclusive and seem to be big hits in a country where strategy games usually aren't. I blame the Large Hadron Collider.
Advance Wars 1 & 2 were still solely directed & developed by japanese devs even if their official domestic release took much longer in the end (and were compiled as a multi-game cartridge over there). Likewise for Dark Conflict/Days of Ruin on DS. That's the main and large difference compared to the 1+2 Bootcamp remake.

Not sure whe Banana Split gets NCL having no involvement frim, they surely have veto power over everything and will probably be shown as such in the credits.

Getting back to the subject of Murder Mystery games.... anyone with a Japanese eShop account who is willing to take a gamble, can you find out if the eShop version of JB Harold Murder Club has an English option?

(I have a Japanese account but keep the "willing to take a gamble" part in mind).

Only Manhattam Requiem has english language support among JB Harold games, although the translation has a few issues. It was likely done on a separate txt file without double-checking how it would look like in-game, and because the japanese language at its core doesn't place much importance to third-person gendered pronouns unlike English (in the screenshots, the persons are simply referred as こと - koto).

But the actual drawback of the JB Harold games (at least this one) is that it's the old kind of japanese ADV gameplay where you may need to waste all the possible choice prompts before the plot sees any progress. It's quite clunky and obtuse on that regard. The art is pretty good on the other hand.

It's often on sale (at 495yen, -50% off) but remember that digital games on the japanese Nintendo eshop have to be paid with prepaid cards from the appropriate region. Play-Asia is the main place to get them.

A part of me kinda admires Ninty's protection of their IP
They have no choice. The nature of their intellectual properties is such that if they set a precedent of not defending them, it becomes harder to defend them later.

Also I love watching Nintendo smash pirates into the ground. It's funny and the responses online from militant teenagers are always quality.

That's only an issue if you are talking about trademarks. Copyright doesn't work that way. Copyright enforcement is selective. Its why things like fan games, fan art, cosplay and fan fiction can even exist and most companies don't give a shit. Why do you think people rag on Nintendo so much in the first place? Because most companies don't give as much of a shit about IP enforcement as Nintendo does. Most have long learned to live with the fan community. Nintendo are seemingly the only ones who are enforcing it to this extent.

So place your bets, Chinese factory worker, localization team employee, NCL member (don't waste a bet on this one,) random schmo or unidentifiable due to using good online security.

I pick Chinese factory worker un-identifiable because lol China don't care.

Thank goodness. Fuck the fans.

I'm going with "Microsoft employee".

but the dominant part of me goes "who tf cares ya dirty Japs, the game comes out in a month anyway, so tf what if a few people are spoiled due to an artbook leak."
As a whole, 早バレ (haya-bare as in "fast spoilers", leaking info of a book/game/etc. before official announcement or release) is not well perceived in Japan, likewise for フライングゲット (lit. "flying get", obtaining something such as a videogame disk/cartridge before its release date). I remember back in late August, a japanese streamer was playing EDF6 a day before everyone else but had to end abruptly because he was bullied by a bunch of people in the chat trying to find his personal info.

Japanese cultural autism can be pretty mean.

Kind of too late for that considering America makes "being a nice place to move to" one of its attractive qualities. Also, why are you talking about Jews in the switch thread?
Fair enough. Back on topic: Anyone play the Mario + Rabbids games? I enjoyed the first one, the second one has improved battle mechanics but I'm still picking my way through it.

Nintendo Wants Discord To Reveal Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Art Book Leaker

If they really gave a shit, the art book wouldn't have leaked in the first place.
They are pissed people actually saw something from the game
